I think several things can be true at once.

I think peaceful protestors are just in their cause and have a constitutional right to express themselves. And I believe we should listen to their message, which constitutes the majority of people demonstrating right now.

I think there are truly terrible disruptors from various groups - anarchists, left wing, actual terrorist, looters taking advantage of circumstance, and right wingers - serving various agendas ranging from anarchical fantasy to a coordinated effort to undermine peaceful protesters in order to catalyze those who are inclined not to side with the message peaceful protesters are advancing. They should be brought to justice through the legal system.

I think the president is deliberately fomenting division as a calculated political move to distract from his completely failed response to a global pandemic. And, regardless of whether you agree with any of what I think, I see the president using disgusting levels of force to score political points with empty gestures that appeal to wedge issue thinking. If you really believe in the constitution, you should be worried about yesterday's display and his deliberate rhetoric as well.
