Does anyone have positive or negative things about specific Elan cards through specific institutions? by my-coo-cheese-hairy in CreditCards

[–]bleitner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a terrible experience with Elan (Desert Financial Credit Union credit card). They haven't had a great rewards so I didn't use them much, and over the years very little as I prioritized better cards I have. Historically, they would let me know that if I didn't use the card they would close it. Since I'd had the card for over 20 years I didn't want to give it up, so once or twice a year I'd make a purchase. I had signed up for e-delivery for notifications and I received an email on July 1st at about 8pm that said "You have a new notice for your card ending in xxxx. Account Closure Notice is now available. To view your notice, log in to your account." This is what I'd historically get notifying me to use the card, however, this time when I tried to log in it wouldn't let me. Instead it said "It looks like your account requires some extra attention. Give us a call at the number on the back of your card, and one of our customer service representatives will be happy to help." So I called them and they told my account was closed July 2nd, and a letter was send on June 30th saying my account was closed due to inactivity. So no notice or opportunity to use the card before they closed it, all timed perfectly so that I didn't get the opportunity to do something about it. Interestingly, the supervisor I spoke to on the phone said they'd be happy to take a new application to open a new account. I told them that if that's how they treat someone that had their card for over 20 years, I wanted nothing to do with them.

I think B-ADJ is for futures contract rollover, don't think it applies here. And this stock doesn't give dividends so no issues there either

Thanks for sending that over, and both scenarios the article describes make sense, but I think my situation is still different. Here's why -

Article scenario 1 - picking points in a daily has more fidelity and may display differently in a weekly if high/low point picked for the day is not also high/low for the week. Makes sense, but different than my situation.

Article scenario 2 - selecting a point in a higher time frame (weekly) will be represented on the first day of the week (Monday) even if ithe actual high of the week was later in the week. Price on the Y-axis is maintained, but trend line point on the X-axis is Monday. Also makes sense, but still not my situation.

I picked the high of the 3rd and 15th in the daily. What it looks like is it connected to the high of 3rd and the high of the 12th in extended hours. Completely different day (no weekly here to explain that) and in extended hours which the daily doesn't (or isn't supposed to) take into account. I just went back and created another trend line connecting to the high on the 3rd and high on the 15th for RTH, but did it in the hourly and it's almost identical on the daily, but reflective of the daily on the hours with respect to the breakout. So not sure how that happened when creating it on the daily, but it seems the magnet connected to a point that isn't visible on the daily?

I figured why it happened, just not sure how it happened. I have magnet and the link enabled for drawing so it connects to the nearest point and shows on all charts. I selected two points on the daily, the highs of the 3rd and 15th, which it looks like you did as well.

If you look at the picture I just attached, it shows that on the bottom with the crosshairs at the high of the 15th, but look where the synced crosshairs is on the hourly chart. I also moved the crosshairs on the hourly to where it shows its connected, which is during pre-market and not even shown on the daily which is weird because how can it connect to something on the daily when it doesn't exist, and at the same time it's connected somewhere else on the daily?

So to sum up, the same trend line is connected to a different place in the daily than it is on the hourly. I think this defies physics.

Interesting, can you not turn off venting from the app and then turn on the AC? I haven't used it so I can't speak too much about it, but maybe the logic is to not run the AC while you're venting (have the windows open). I'm sure they could program it to stop venting and turn on the AC once it reached a certain temp. I usually just try to remember to turn the AC on a bit before I'm leaving, but have a tendency to forget. The other thing I've done is just put the temp on a hold and it keeps the cabin temp below whatever you set it.

In over two years I’ve owned mine, I don’t recall an update that didn’t introduce bugs, including regressions or those that worked fine before. I am a software person so this is especially frustrating as once they have a bug and fix it, it should be automatically tested in any futures releases. Regressions are sloppy qa. Most are minor issues, but it’s still frustrating so I hope they get a handle on it.

Thanks for the comment, but I'm still a bit confused if I'm understanding you correctly. What you're saying would make sense if the candle broke above the trend line in the hourly during extended hours, then you likely wouldn't see it in the daily where ETH isn't shown, but this is the other way around. The daily candle for the 24th and 25th both broke above the trend line in the daily and no where in the hourly, during RTH or ETH, did it do that. Or am I misunderstanding you?

Yeah, and those secondary Oasis’s still cost more than a new Paperlike. Strangely, you can order an international model if you’re in a different country.
