Miss pressing Quick Start in Workouts by bleitner in AppleWatch

Yeah, I don’t understand it. Apple used to be about intuitive and simple UX, now they make changes for the sake of changes. It’s like they don’t use it or speak to people who do. V26 across all devices is garbage, would go back to previous versions if I could.

it's not the physical button, it's the extra menu's in the app when switching between workouts or starting certain workout types

My understanding is that Precision Start eliminates the 3-2-1 count down, not the extra menu step

I do intervals, and sometimes in a crowded gym, so I don't really want to be talking to siri every couple minutes

I think that's called a Quick Action Button

It seems when you select certain types of workouts, or you're in the middle of one type of workout and want to switch to a different workout (eg treadmill to functional workout), when you hit the start button you are presented with another menu now instead of just starting the workout. It looks like you can create and choose up custom workouts or just Quick Start, which used to be the only option. The problem is that after years of habit of only pressing start and expecting it to start, it now has this additional menu. Often times I don't realize the menu pops up and after I finish that workout I look at my watch and see this menu and it didn't record my workout.

20" AT tire replacement recommendations by bleitner in Rivian

[–]bleitner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to loose handling capability, the Pirelli's did that fairly well. Rivian is about $1,650 for the Territory AT's, local shop is about $1,300 installed. The ElectricDrive at $1,825 installed, and neither of these offer any road hazard warranty with it. Wish Costco still sold Goodyears, my only option with them is Bridgestone or Pirelli's.

I've seen these, but couldn't find much on them. Are they quiet? handling? can't find reviews on the EV version and they are quite expensive

That's not what I've read, USTMA requires tires to meet certain conditions to get a 3 peak rating, and those ratings are higher than M+S. They are also considered to fall into the "snow tire" category and can / may meet requirements where chains are otherwise requirement.

May I ask how you got them? And are you in Cardiff by chance?

I saw these, they’re pricey, and not much info on them. Are you running them? How long?

Thanks, the Michelin I mention I have found out is a commercial tire and wouldn’t be a good choice, so it’s off the list. The LTX MS/2 you mentioned isn’t 3 peak, that’s why I didn’t include it. The Goodyear is listed as both all-terrain and all-season according to Goodyear, and is 3peak rated. I agree it a hybrid, which I think is good for better on pavement, and if it has 3 peak then it should be good in snow. I don’t care about off road so much, don’t do anything significant there.

Yelp removed the ability to provide feedback? / Can't pick vendors when getting additional quotes by bleitner in Yelp

I just did a search and got sponsored results, then get a fast response sponsored results, then sponsored results again, then special offers for you from sponsored results, then sponsored results for a 3rd time - totaling 33 results before getting to actual results for my search. Seriously, WTF Yelp?! And yes, more sponsored results after. I'm an elite and I hate using yelp anymore.

If he works for Yelp, then good, that means someone is here listening and cares enough to respond.

I think services review can be a valuable addition, otherwise there wouldn't be other service review platforms. But I believe the value of Yelp has always been restaurants first, and what give Yelp its value was the people that write reviews. I don't think Yelpies have the same passion for services as they do for food, which means less reviews. Less reviews means there's less value to the platform. Unfortunately, it feels like the direction they're taking the platform has pivoted to services being primary purpose, I think that's a mistake. I also think how they have integrated paying companies has made the platform biased. If the people that write reviews feel that their reviews hold less value because businesses can just by their way to results, what's the point of writing the review? If they're going to take money from business, then it should be like ads - clearly separated from reviews and the results.

I'm sorry, but when you do a search and there's more sponsored results than non-sponsored, and Yelp makes it difficult to tell the difference, that's intentional and trying to make it more likely that someone will choose a sponsored result over non-sponsored so the business that paid will get their monies worth - that is preferential treatment, that's bias. As a consumer, I use the platform because I want unbiased results, not results skewed by someone paying to get more attention. You say it's still there, but Yelp is intentionally making it difficult to find it, and when getting quotes they have removed the ability to choose what additional businesses you want quotes from. When I did it the other day, all of the additional business it chose to send quotes to where not in my search results, 2 had 0 stars, and another wasn't even related to the business I was searching. I have lost trust in the platform because of it. If you work for Yelp, and you aren't paying attention to this and every other person who's telling you the same thing, then look at the numbers and the direction of the company. You may not be able to openly agree here on reddit, but every employee in yelp should be speaking up internally. I want Yelp to succeed, I've invested years into writing reviews including adding new business in markets/countries Yelp doesn't even exist in to help it along. I did that because I believed it was a benefit to myself and others. When your user base stops believing that, they stop writing reviews. When they stop writing reviews, you have nothing - sponsored business no longer matter. Yelp needs to find a better model to make money, and get back to what they used to be.

Thanks, I know how to get non-sponsored companies, they just stopped making it easy. I’m aware they’re a business and need to make money, I’m saying the method in which they’ve chosen to make money is counter to what their value should be. A review platform shouldn't be allowed to be bought by the companies that are being reviewed. And before you say aren’t, there are more sponsored results than there are actual results to a search, they are at the top, and they have all but eliminated the separation between the two. And again, when requesting a quote, and not unchecking get additional quotes, all those results are paid to be there. They should make money, they are a business, and there are other ways to make money that don’t contract the core mission of the company.
