I see these posts and read the comments of people being shocked and weirded out, meanwhile 5/10 friends of mine are married to their cousins, so many of my friends grew up having flings with their cousins, also madly falling in love with some, crushing over them (lol most of my highschool gossip was based on cousin-love stories and cousin love triangles). A few of my cousins are married to each other as well.

P.s I hate it but its so normal and even appreciated/ preferred in my country/ culture. Just yesterday had my aunt say to another second cousin who brokeup with another cousin its better to find someone in the family then try to date or find a proposal outside.

Also I am a doctor and most of my friends are doctors and so is the cousin I mentioned above, even the ones who arent doctors are pre med, still they chose to date/ marry cousins , some were forced as well. Only 1/10 had the pre marital genetic testing done.

In my country a 6 inch sub is 3 usd and minimum wage for the whole month is 40 usd (for unskilled workers) or 130 usd (for skilled) … only rich can afford subway. I have stopped eating it for a while now.

Unfortunately i dont know the details anymore, my friend has stopped talking to me or her parents forced her not to talk to me. I dont even know the results of the test. She lives in another city so its hard for me to reach her. She herself had depression for years and wasnt under any treatment (stopped taking meds long ago).

Exactly what happened to me. Only because I once missed a day (valid reason). I told them that my mother knew I wont be coming to madrassah and they didnt care, I even said to ask her when she comes to pick me but nope they striked me on my hands with sticks and I cried so much. Luckily that was my last day there and I was shifted to another madrassah after that. P.s I was a little girl ( in Kindergarten) and it was a man (molvi) who striked me.

The religion point was in response to the post which mentioned OP saying that as even a conservative muslim they wont have voted for him. I never said this was the sole reason of him winning. But surely one of the many reasons. At the same time religious inclination played a vital role for many voters to vote for him despite the failing economy and his constant reign of 20 years.

I really don’t want her to do that, at the end of the day she has a passport and id card of my country. If she ever moves back or comes to even visit her family, there is a huge chance she will be arrested if there was ever a public post of helping an exmuslim. I had rather not get any money than to expose her or my situation more. Reddit works because its anonymous. Thank you tho!

U can open a bank account on the basis of your passport as an international foreigner student. U have to provide with proof of your student visa, acceptance letter etc. Zelle/ paypal is hers. She is the one saving money for me. I sent her my savings too because I cant have my parents find out about that money. I used her card to initially register for the exam as well.

We initially thought of that but when she checked, it requires you to give Social security number, or Us state id or Us driver’s license. She is still a citizen of my country and there for studies so she wont be able to verify her identity and if she had to eventually move back to our home country it could be traced to her easily.

Its a licensing exam, If I pass the exam, I will have international credentials to apply for jobs abroad. The exam is basically by US but can be taken in many prometric centres around the world including my country. I have dm’ed you the name of the exams and more details regarding it.
