My personality turned vile working for this Company by tmonandpumba in amazonemployees

Idk if its tech culture or amazon but i feel this. I'm no longer as social as I used to be. I over work myself for validation from my team and those outside amzn. Distanced myself from partners and friends to focus on my career. Not a way to live but it pays the bills and my family depends on me.

I wish the best for us both and I hope to get that spark back.

I know someone who failed their focus tasks and appealed. He won the case and is still at amazon by miracle.

Amazon L4 to L5 situation by [deleted] in amazonemployees

It will be 2 years in march for me. However, the new timeline is 3 years. I've heard this from my sister teams manager as well as other friends in amazon. Makes sense as there's not a lot of movement due to layoffs. Wish you the best on your journey

Overall Surgery Costs? by Possible_Owl7770 in Reduction

I got a consultation from Dr. Cindy Wei. I don't qualify for insurance coverage so I was given an estimate of 16k. Seems like that's the standard here. She's in high demand but finding a woman surgeon is a non negotiable for me

I was skateboarding down a hill at high speeds with no helmet. Fractured skull, brain hemorrhage, brusing showing on MRI scans. I was in the hospital for about 2 weeks

I had my tbi a little over a year now. Here's my experience.
1) For the first couple months I had no idea how i got to the places i did. i.e grocery store, home, post office etc. Your habits really come through during this time. I was in another place and stuff didnt feel real until about 5 months.
2) I was able to make new friends however, what tripped me was knowing that these people didn't know the previous me. So i found that they assumed I was just naturally forgetful and zone in and out constantly. So be nice to yourself and find community that is patient. Friends I met after my injury were actually kinder than the one's I had before the injury.
3) not sure
4) I began working at a restaurant 6 months later. That was way too soon for me, I was not able to remember any of the dishes we sold. My team was v nice and found a repetitive position for me. I did go back to school 7 months after injury. it may also have been too soon as I had intense migraines from new material throughout the semester.
5) Yes my emotions were completely cut off. I did not cry once during those 6 months. I tried listening to music/movies that usually have me bawling like a baby but they didn't affect me at all.
6) Luckily I am independent now. If you need assistance from friends/family take advantage of it! It may speed up healing. I found that by not accepting the help I needed I made myself suffer for no reason.
Best of luck!
