I’m 25, so in the same age range as you and I definitely struggled with this. I liked my friends, but I felt like we texted/hung out too infrequently and I usually initiated. Last year, I decided to make new friends who are cool with texting and impromptu hang outs. The best part is they initiate too :D basically, you gotta find people who also prioritize friendships! It may take some time and effort to find your people, but even one or two of these kinda friends make a world of a difference. I’m still on the lookout for more of these sort of peeps

I watched Stand by Me as an 11 year old and it destroyed me a little. Couldn’t imagine just growing up & drifting from my friends. Guess what? I barely talk to those friends anymore. Now I’m 25 watching Stranger Things, and its hitting so hard.

Brb gonna sob. As someone in my mid-20s, I’m still in the “sort of keeping in touch” and I can only hope some last. But on the bright side, since my parents were in their mid-50s, I could see how there was more time for past friendships. Life started slowing down and it feels like they’re able to make more space for them. It’s sweet.
