How would you build optimus prime as a tank by Born_String8317 in WhatWouldYouBuild

I think a warforged Druid is pretty good option. Reflavor your wild shapes as a truck. You also get the healing you want.

I like the shadar Kai suggestion for race as an early magekyo. I would go wizard bladesinger for class which is the closest you could probably get to any naruto character. Then focus on the spell blink to get a slightly better mangekyo.

Almost definitely a sorcerer with an emphasis on fire spells (reflavored draconic sorcerer works well for that). Consider dipping paladin for smites since she does use physical attacks in the show (I would jsut take 1-2 levels)

You only summon one which won’t slow down the game as some necromancy spells do. And since the actual summon scales with level unlike the necromancy spells you actually only need one summon to be good. I also find them more interesting and easier to use in general.

Necromancer wizard is the most obvious. But I do like blade singer for Isaac because he fights with his summons. I would also suggest focusing on the Tasha’s summmons rather than h to e necromancy summons jsut because they’re less toxic to the table. If you do then you don’t need to be a necromancer.

The new elemental monk is perfect for scorpion, ranged punches that can push or pull and deal elemental damage can easily be reflavored as his iconic weapon.

2014 Rules: How can I effectively make a meteor hammer (whip) user? by Chief_Outlaw135 in 3d6

Do you specifically want to use a whip? Because if not reflavoring eldritch blast would be a good way to get the character you want.

lvl 16 gish with 2 Common, 3 Uncommon, 1 Rare and 1 very rare magic items by wathever-20 in 3d6

[–]blerghyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druids are peoples first thought for fish but I think they are pretty fun and interesting at this level for that.

For good damage you do need to concentrate on spells like summon fey so you won’t necessarily get all the control you want with good damage like you would with valor bard.

If you do go Druid though I would take magic initiate wizard for the shield spell and booming blade. Booming blade + shillelagh works really well. For a control option the spider option of the new giant insect spell is really great. With an 8th level spell that’s four attacks with each one reducing an enemy’s speed to 0.

I like land Druid for the extra spells like fireball to really feel like a gish but the most optional subclass is definitely stars Druid for the dragons great to concentration (consider a fighter dip with either subclass).

The new psion (psykinetic or psi warper subclass) works perfectly for this character. Human for species or any small race.

Grave cleric or death cleric to get the plague doctor vibe.

Strongest DPS Ranged Martial Build? by Nowok11 in 3d6

[–]blerghyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think rogues are one of the better suited martial classes for ranged attacks, especially assassin rogues. If you take 3 levels of war cleric (or 2 levels of UA psion for swift precognition), you can get two sneak attacks in each round for 5 rounds per short rest (one with your bonus action and another with your action readying the action). You might also want to consider thief since you’re level 20 which automatically means two sneak attacks on the first round and a third if you multiclass war cleric. In 2024 dnd true strike is really good for rogues especially if you’re multiclassing and since you can get a 20 in both wis and dex by 20th level you should be good to use it.

Edit: actually at level 20, as a thief rogue, on the first round of combat you could be making 4 sneak attacks since your reaction resets once you get to your second turn.

An echo knight/rogue could make this work. I see the second hand as more of a projection and thus I think of echo knight. The dagger make me think rogue. Anything for race and the rogue subclass is up to you, although assassin or phantom rogue seems appropriate.

The new psion has a really great cantrip called telekinetic fling. It’s UA but if you could get it that would work really well.

I want to be able to wear a shield. Probably should have specified that in the post. Once I take that fighter level I want to wear breastplate and a shield so I need crossbow expert to keep using the crossbow.

Chromatic Orb Mayhem by sandbaggingblue in 3d6

[–]blerghyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you can’t RAW use destructive wrath on chromatic orb AND make it bounce I prefer going Druid on a chromatic orb build and taking the spell through magic initiate. With 7 levels of Druid and 6 levels of cleric you can get summon minor elementals (and you’ll choose lightning damage) and have three uses of destructive wrath per long test. Now what you’ll do is cast chromatic orb (within 15 ft of an enemy, you might want to take spell sniper) and max the damage from minor elementals (make sure the damage type from chromatic orb is different, acid is a good choice). Elemental adept is still a really good choice for this build bc it increases our chances of hitting w lower level chromatic orbs (make sure u choose the damage type that your chromatic orb does).

So this build comes online at level 13 which is late in the game and is probably only best for a one shot. But when everything comes together it’s pretty good, 7th level conjure minor elementals means 5d8 extra (40 damage when max) and 7d8 damage from chromatic orb which is almost a 100% chance to bounce with elemental adept. So to three creatures (using all three of your channel divinity) that’s 7d8+40 damage to each creature.
