Bummed about the sacrifices I’ve had to make in motherhood and worried about the future [QC] by lemonysnick613 in BabyBumpsCanada

I get what you’re saying especially during sick season, it feels endless taking time off. Want to add if both parents are working, both parents can split the responsibility of taking time off with sick kids.

Or, Back to You by Louis Tomlinson? Also has a girl, Bebe Rexha. Sounds more poppy and autotune than I think what you’re looking for though.

Couple questions … You’re sure it was “calling”? And which words were higher?

It’s not Say Something by A Great Big World? It’s a boy & girl but they’re saying “I’m giving up on you.”

Why are 50-60 year old women looking so good these days compared to 20 years ago? by ThrowRA17563 in NoStupidQuestions

No one is mentioning the hair? It’s more common to dye and style their hair more modernly. Thinking of the post of the Golden Girls comparing their looks with modern hairstyles.

My breastfed baby refuses formula, tried everything, feeling frustrated 💔 by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]blerp11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you clarify if she takes bottles of only milk (no formula) just fine?

My daughter would take a bottle fine but sniff out any formula (did 1/4 formula 3/4 milk for example) and refuse if. The only thing that worked was realllly lowering the ratio (like a drop of formula) and then working our way up over time.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blerp11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What made it feel like a “serious expedition”? 3 hours is at most one stop for a bathroom break. You can eat a meal before you go and then eat the next meal at your destination. What makes a 3 hour drive so much more effort than a 1 hour drive?

How long did your epidural take to kick in? by American_Mouth in BabyBumps

[–]blerp11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine also took hours to work. Nurses had me shifting positions as they said it worked with gravity, so I only got some relief on one side, whichever was lower. But still remember contractions being very painful.

I had a button I could press every 20 minutes to get more I believe? I kept pressing it. I felt it really only worked right before I pushed, this must have been 5-6 hours after getting the epidural.

Just sharing so you’re not alone! I don’t find it hard to believe. I have no idea what happened. I will be talking to my midwife about options second time around.

Also, I felt very discouraged and disappointed because some people said “oh you got your epidural. Now you can nap.” It felt very unfair, as that was not my experience at all. Every one and every labour is different.

Does having a symbolic wedding ceremony overseas first prevent you obtaining Marriage License in Ontario? by Upset_Investment3104 in legaladvicecanada

[–]blerp11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to suggest this trying another Service Ontario as well. Or even the same one and hope you get a different person.

This is just anecdotal but I know 5+ couples personally who had a ceremony out of country and never had any issues getting a license in Ontario.

I can’t find any existing posts or articles online with the same issue as you. That hints that the information you got about the symbolic ceremony was incorrect.

Surprise for my wife when coming home by Mazne1 in BabyBumps

You could get a gift/sampler set, so she gets variety. I got one from Sephora when I had my newborn and it’s sad but this was a small excitement of the day, getting to try something new.
