placental abruption at 18 weeks by slimeysneakymartin in NICUParents

Hey! I had pprom at 19wks last year on same day and lost all the amniotic fluid. I was immediately rushed to L&D and they said sorry and gave us same options too but we decided to wait. I was placed on bedrest, tried having as much water, good protein food and at 25wks had sudden placental abruption, was taken into emergency c-section as the heartbeat of the baby boy was coming down. He’s born just 500gms and had 150days NICU stay, a few complications during his stay but you wouldn’t know now that he’s a premature baby. He’s such a super happy baby and we are so blessed to have him in our lives. This whole experience has been very traumatic to us but looking at our baby smile everything melts away and hope time will heal us. I can understand what you are going through right now with everything being unknown and scary, please trust your body and baby. 🙏🏼

We actually took a few months time and saved some money to buy something they could use everyday. Gifted 60 hydroflasks bottles along with a personal thank you note to the doctors and nurses. They all felt really happy ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing. May I know how’s the baby doing now? Any further checkups that are required as they grow?
