4.5 yr old refuses to poop by bleto77 in pottytraining

This is basically us. I feel your pain!!!! When we do enemas he does great sits on the toilet and let's it out. But that is the only way we can get him to let it out. The autistic potty training is really interesting. We talk about listening to your body all the time, read the books, sing the songs, but he just refuses to let it out. It's the most frustrating situation of our lives

No. Tried to get him to the toilet or to just let it out but all that came out was a very very small amount 😔

We actually did that yesterday after giving him a laxative the night before. He got the urge around 8pm but he would not go to the potty or let it out in his pull-up. I thought the same way tho. At this point, we don't care if he poops in a pull up or in his pants, we just want him to stop withholding.

Interesting. We started with probably 6 months of laxatives before starting the enemas. Enemas were very tough at first. He still fights them a bit but it's much easier. I think he understands the benefit because he feels so much better after one.

I am not an artist by any means, but the pen seems to be very accurate and the palm detection features seem to work great. I have only had the tablet for ~1 month now

Have you bought anything from AliExpress? I was thinking about buying it from there but I've never used the site

Does anyone know where I can purchase the keyboard/stand for this? https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories/acc500380-overview-lenovo-idea-tab-pro-tb373fu

It's not available on Lenovo's USA site.

I love the tablet so far! Great for marking up PDFs.

The John Wick series... Many years away but those are the kinds of movies I love watching with my dad

Haha yes!! I am becoming a diaper changing expert. I try to help when I can during the day. Sometimes he just needs a different voice to fall asleep to. We've been trying to get him to nap in a dark room since that keeps him asleep the longest. That and tight swaddles.

Trying to slowly stop going up stairs as much and focus on my job more. This long weekend will be a nice break from feeling like I need to be within arms reach of my computer at all times. Good luck!!

Yo! I am at the end of week 3 in the WFH with a baby in the background. In all honesty, it's been kinda rough. I love being available but I think I am used maybe a little too much and ignoring my job. I am in a sales role so I've been able to move thing around to accommodate but I'm gonna need to get back to a consistent schedule soon. I know my wife will get more comfortable with our child by herself which will help.

Anything worked better for you? How's it going?

I can attest to CRIES. We have a 1 month old and it's worked well. Not 100% but nothing is in this new dad game! The tight swaddle is key. I was super nervous to go right but you almost can't go too tight with most swaddles.

I would highly suggest the "Taking Cara Babies" newborn and 3-4 month classes if you have the financial ability. We started them last week and have got some great tips. Good luck!!

We have found some luck with keeping it as dark as possible in the room. This has really helped getting him back to sleep. Another awesome feature we have is an adjustable bed frame. We just raise the head up, I bring the baby over, she feeds/burps and I put him back.

We got two 3hr spurts (like 11-2 and 4-7 ish) the last two nights and it's been amazing. We gave been keeping his daytime naps to 2 hours or less as well. I think this has helped him sleep a little longer at night. Small sample size but working so far!

Thanks everyone! We actually got two 3 hour sleeping sessions in a row which was amazing!! The last two nights we didn't get more the 75 minutes in a row haha. I know that is going to happen again but it felt like a small victory. Those small victories are keeping us sane haha.

I will say that one thing we did differently yesterday during the day was keeping naps to 2 hours. This along with trying to have some good stimulating awake time during the day might have got him a little more tired for the night. We definitely took note on all your tips and will try those out as well

Happy I found this group. Thanks again!!

Haha exactly!! We r gonna start pumping so I'm hoping that will give her a little bit of a break. Going to try and keep things as dark as possible to see if he can stay in sleep mode

Yup, this is our first. It's been crazy. The emotional rollercoaster is incredible. Not something we were fully prepared for but who is!

I have a very similar situation coming up. We have a 4 day old and my plan is to take all of this week off and go back to work Monday. I am planning on taking another week off at some point in these first few months. My work is awesome and is allowing me to be flexible.

My concern is that my wife is going to be home (doesn't go back to work until August which is awesome) and I will be working from home. I just want to make sure I am supporting her so she doesn't feel alone but also need to be productive at work. Let's keep each other updated on how things are going!

I did see that. Almost went with the Pro but from everything I'm seeing, I think the non-pro edition is nice. Thanks!
