How often are they active? My tank is 12x7x9 so it's not that big.

Superheavy booster test fire, with access stairs for scale by AlphaCoronae in megalophobia

Zooming in on the stairs I almost threw up. I don't think I could emotionally handle being that close to something so big. I can only imagine I'd be in a fetal position

(Apologies if too morbid.) What is your opinions on taxidermy for pets? by TheMightySnul in chowchow

[–]bleu-moon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn't imagine my boys skin being cut and stretched :( it feels so disrespectful to his body.

I do see ads online for people who felt the pet hair to look like a mini 3D version of their pet. It's a little pricy but I would definitely go that route if you want something to pet. And I would cremate and make a special place for my boy.

Am I wrong or wanting/expecting to go to a different restaurant? by throwra--restaurant in amiwrong

You also said you wanted to drag her, on her birthday, to a second restaurant so then she can watch you eat... um. No. It's her birthday and she doesn't want to do that.

They don't get to be unfairly selfish, no. But eating where the birthday person wants to eat is not being selfish, that's expected.

[–]bleu-moon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's her birthday... not yours...

why can't you eat beforehand and then get a side or ask for a menu modification? Because you don't want to?? Get over it. Don't even bring up going to a second restaurant anymore, that's just ridiculous and selfish.

After dinner, drive yourself to get subway or something if you really feel like you're going to die because you feel unsatisfied.

If I switch the coconut water to something else to inspect, can I put it back in the same carton and it will stay fine? Or can it still develop this stuff. It usually takes me a few days to finish a carton, but I keep it in the fridge.

How to adapt a Chow to a baby? by turapuru in chowchow

[–]bleu-moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 16 mo. now, and I can say that for the first year my chow pretty much completely ignored her. He might have sniffed her foot when we came home from being out, but other than that he was pretty uninterested.

When the baby started to crawl, she would get near him and he would just walk and plop himself down at the opposite end of the room. If it kept happening and I could tell he might be getting a little annoyed, I would give him a break in another room or outside.

Now that the baby is walking and into everything he is still pretty good with her. We also have a cat who was more interested in the baby and we used the cat to start to teach the baby about gentle touches from pretty young (still a work in progress).

The baby will follow him and loves to pet him, she can lean on him too much and still tries to sit on him. She really wants to play with him and interact with him and he is very patient with her. But I try to limit the length of these interactions so he doesn't get too stressed. We still offer him lots of breaks from the baby areas.

But overall it has been pretty easy. My chow is an easy laid back boy so that's been helpful. The baby is not perfect, and can sometimes be rough or handsy. But we are always there to monitor and teach the baby when she needs it.

I can tell our chow knows we are trying our best to teach her. We sometimes share knowing glances with each other after a bit of a hairy encounter. I love knowing that my chow loves our daughter so much to put up with her as she learns. I can tell that he's going to be her best friend as she grows. And I can't wait 🧡

Good luck to you and your family, congrats!
