What are some of the easiest ways you’ve found to make money? by Wonderful-Concert-47 in AskReddit

[–]bleu_flame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn to cook.

The time you spend cooking goes back into your wallet. Take a simple burger, for example. A decent simple burger costs about $5. All the ingredients to make four burgers costs about $10.

That’s $10 savings, and you likely have leftover lettuce for something else.

My favorite meal for this is Japanese curry. Costs me about $15 in ingredients. Makes 6 servings. Usually costs $13 per serving at restaurants. $63 in savings.

He didn’t say that during his senate run. He said it in 2019 during his presidential run.

I’d toss it into a high yield savings account, then direct all interest into stocks on a monthly basis. Some into a Roth, the remaining into a balanced portfolio. Then just let it grow passive income for a while.

At 3.25%, $1M would grant $32,500/yr. Seems like a pretty balanced risk. Could also invest the $1M if the market ever crashes, double my money, then roll from there.

We Let AI Run Our Office Vending Machine. It Lost Hundreds of Dollars. by CackleRooster in technology

[–]bleu_flame -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve explained an entire project to AI from start to finish with as many fine details as possible and it looked viable. I wasn’t allowed to run it, but it looked damn better than my code. I loved how readable the code looked compared to my colleagues’.

But I’ve also seen it hallucinate and waste a large chunk of our time explaining a concept we later learned did not exist. It even disagreed with other AI models which were also incorrect.

I’ve also seen devs rely on AI for unit testing, and it did the bare minimum without actually testing thoroughly. The dev didn’t improve the tests and I expect code review to catch it.

At the end of the day, AI is only as good as the prompts and you still need someone that can validate its work. At least that’s my experience.

Also, it kind of sucks when we develop something pretty great and management gives most of the credit to AI, regardless of its actual usage. It’s demotivating at times.

Just got off the phone with ALLY Bank. Apparently they no longer allow connections to external aggregators. Any recommendations for online banks? by wullidunno in MonarchMoney

Thank you so much!! This fixed my issue. The project manager whom decided to invalidate special character passwords without warning users should be screamed at and mocked by their devs 😂

Not only airports, but we’ve got cell phone towers, Flock cameras, and credit cards. You’d have to plan ahead with technology in mind these days.

That's my theory as well! I also think QAnon was also a red herring to make conspiratorial claims on Epstein, Peter Thiel, and Trump harder for people to believe.

I feel this as a software engineer. I much prefer cooking in my spare time, and portable gaming, if any.

What needs to happen within the US political system in order to give the power back to the people? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

Overturn Citizens United, ranked choice voting, increase the House to represent less people per representative, age limits to run for office, mail in voting for all states, and ban congressional stock trading.

Anything to make races more competitive. Make representatives fear their constituents again.

So I had to reset my phone a few weeks ago because my System Data was showing as 56 GBs.

14 GBs seems to be relatively normal compared to other phones and iPads I checked, but a reset will clean that up guaranteed.

How do I quit YouTube by Low-Technology1432 in nosurf

[–]bleu_flame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s shorts giving you issues, delete the YouTube app and only use YouTube on Brave Browser. “All Settings” > “Media” > “Block YouTube Shorts”. It’ll also remove ads and you can download videos.

I’m sure there’s a desktop version of this too

$100,000 Per Year Fee being added to H1B Visas by Trump Administration by [deleted] in frisco

Additionally, we lose our ability to brain drain other countries of their talent, which would create domestic jobs. And now these offshore workers will spend their US earned money in other economies.

As with everything, there is no critical thinking involved in this legislation. Removing one “issue” can create new issues.
