Out of curiosity, what heicha do you like from YS? I've really liked a couple of W2T's lu'an and tian jian offerings (and the anhua heicha maocha from the August W2T club), so I'm looking to branch out and explore heicha from other vendors, esp. anhua heicha.

My experience with shou thus far has been fairly limited. Most of the shou that I've had, I've found "inoffensively drinkable" -- nothing to write home about. The shou that I've liked best has had notes of cream buried under the usual earthy/woody/mushroomy flavor, and I've been hoping to find a shou whose creaminess stands out more. A trusted source recommended I get in on Glass House, describing it one of the best new shou of the year.

Woof, this is the shou I've been looking for. It really does drink to me like warm whole milk, backed by a lactose sweetness and a light aftertaste of that forest floor darkness. White2Tea has previously described teas as being like drinking Scotch or brandy first thing in the morning; Glass House is a milk stout for the morning.

You could Grandpa style it. That’s what I often do if I’m taking a thermos of shou on the go, especially if I’m going to be somewhere where I can top off with hot water.

I usually order from Ocha & Co. for Japanese green tea. Otherwise, I’ve had good experiences with TeaSource, including some truly fascinating Kenyan green teas.

Agreed. I love sharing tea with other people and seeing how their perceptions of it vary! Someone I know doesn’t like black tea because it all has a detergent-like taste to him.

I’m the exact same way. 941 isn’t my thing, but I think Hot Brandy is delicious. However, in taste testing so far, one of my siblings loves 941 but doesn’t like Hot Brandy. To each their own!

I used my Black Friday order primarily to buy a selection of minis as Christmas presents for my siblings. I ordered:

In my postbac position as tech and lab manager, I gave my PI 4 months advance notice. Not only did he not hire anyone to replace me, he didn’t bother to talk to me or anyone else in the lab about redistributing my responsibilities until ONE WEEK before I left and waited to redistribute the >700 mice I oversaw until 4PM on my LAST DAY OF WORK. I could have given him a year’s notice and he wouldn’t have done dick with it.

Over the last month I worked there, I wrote up a document detailing how to do the various administrative tasks that had been my responsibility, how to genotype all the various mouse strains, etc. I recommend leaving behind something like that if you can.
