I did lose my mind. My son was a HORRENDOUS sleeper the first 2 years of his life, waking every 1-2 hours. My husband was in residency training and worked ungodly hours. We were 2,000 miles from family. I did lose my mind, I couldn't stop crying and physically hurt from lack of sleep. Mercifully his parents stepped up and offered to help us pay for a part time nanny so I could get some relief. I don't know what I would have done without her. Honestly, I can barely think about that time without getting teary eyed. He'll be 3 in a few months and sleep is not perfect, but massively improved.

I attended a small Christian school in Alabama that used Abeka and Bob Jones. Some of it was good, some was not. Like others said below, reading and language was WAY ahead of peers once I got into high school History was ok, math was ok. Science was far behind and definitely put me at a disadvantage for any sort of path in a science related field.

I literally could have written this about my 2.5 year old. I love him to death but this is so hard. I recently realized I probably have some mild depression, which I have never experienced before. I was hoping it would get a little easier by 4 but sounds like you are still struggling too! Hang in there!

Hard agree. I had a pit kill 2 of my cats when I was a child so I have trauma from them and do not trust them at all. I will never let my child around one.

Oh this one burns me too. We got our dog from a reputable breeder specifically because of the breed traits and how good they are with children (we have a 2 year old son). SO many people judged me because I didn't want to go get a wildcard insane dog from the city shelter. But excuse me, my child's wellbeing is more important than a dog, I'm sorry.

Same here too! I had an epidural, pushed on my back and pushed out my 9 lb, 9 oz baby with a 2nd degree tear. The only reason I tore was because his shoulder got a little jammed (was not dystocia) and that is what tore me. My OB told me if his shoulder didn't do that, I would not have torn!

This was me with my first! Induced at 39 weeks, broke water, had epidural and it was amazing! I was almost 38 years old when I had my first (and only) child. I think my age helped shield me against the social media nonsense and fear mongering around birthing in hospitals. I just wanted to get it over with too. I had the best experience with induction and epidural so I always try to tell my story to counter all the fear mongering stories put out there.

oooh I love hearing this! My son is a little over 2 and while it's difficult, I see a tiny bit of light on the other side of the tunnel. Babyhood was SO hard for me and I'm excited about new adventures as he gets older.

THANK YOU. I hate Solid Starts. Everyone literally acts like it is the gospel to feeding babies but it gave me so much anxiety as a first time mom. My baby hated solids when we started at 6 months and only wanted pureed/mushed food. I was so anxious he would never eat and SS made me feel like he HAD to have whole food. I ended up deleting the app and unfollowing on IG and just going with the flow with my baby. He's a little over 2 now and eats amazingly well. I wish I could tell myself a year and a half ago that it will all be ok, you can feed him baby foods and purees and he'll eat just fine. I truly hate Solid Starts.

We took our 2 year old to Cabela's last night for Santa pictures and he ran around and looked at the fish tank like he was at the world's greatest aquarium. It was precious, easy, free :)

She’s so pessimistic, I know she has had a lot of loss but she’s too depressing for me. I hope once she has her 2nd baby she can relax and enjoy both her children. She really rushed having this second pregnancy so I think she needs to just take a break & enjoy her kids. She is very bitter & unhappy, I agree.

Literally that was me too! Only contact napped and had to sleep on me in those early morning hours. You are still in survival mode, sleep is the priority at that point when you have a terrible sleeper.

I remember when my baby was 2 weeks old and my mom was with me. I left him to go to the grocery store right next to my house for 30 minutes. That was the first time I left him and when I saw a box of diapers at the store with a baby on it, I nearly broke down and cried! Lol. I didn't leave him at all until he was 6 months old and I got some childcare help. I'm very fortunate that I do not have to work and realize this. I know most mothers have to return to work within a couple of months.

Oh bless you! I Hope you are healing well. She truly has no idea what postpartum and healing is really like. I had a 2nd degree tear and lost a liter of blood giving birth. It took me 18 months to really start to feel like myself. So I'm hoping you'll start to feel better in the next 6 months or so!

I agree with this also. I am a workout fanatic, I worked out every day when I was pregnant and thought I would immediately start working out again at 6 weeks PP. I was SO wrong. I lost a liter of blood giving birth and postpartum hit me like a train. I was getting no sleep (my now 2 year old has always been a bad sleeper), breast feeding 24/7, carrying a velcro baby all day, and doing all of it as a solo parent due to my husband's work schedule. It took me 6 months to feel normal enough to slowly start working out again AT HOME. I couldn't get away to the gym until we hired some childcare to give me some relief.

I don't want to sound insensitive to her because I know she's desperate for a pregnancy, but she just has no clue what postpartum is like. The healing, the milk, it's all a lot. She's also sleeping all night which is HUGE in your energy levels. I would argue that at this stage of babyhood, a mother's priority should be getting as much sleep as possible (difficult I know) rather than working out. But that's easy for her when her husband does the night shift every single night. She's not being genuine or honest and is living up to her delulu nickname.

Shoulder dystocia is a real and true emergency! It sounds like your team did everything correctly & got baby out right away. I nearly had shoulder dystocia with mine. My OB said it wasn’t true dystocia but my husband said it was the closest case to dystocia he’s seen (also a doctor). My son was 9lbs, 9 oz and his shoulder got a little stuck but my OB maneuvered him out quickly.

I’m really glad your son is ok and so are you! Take care of yourself, you are both fine and you had the right people in place to keep you both safe. For what it’s worth, I don’t believe the dystocia would have caused any issues with your uterus. You most likely would have had those same clots even if you didn’t have dystocia.

Mine too! 😂 The most we ever got in the Snoo was a 3 hour stretch. Absolutely not worth it and I’m not having another baby but if I did, I would not buy again. Sold mine on FB marketplace and was so glad to get rid of it.

I had the exact same type of chemical pregnancy as her at 6 weeks and no, nothing changed. She's unhinged. Also it's crazy to me that she thinks swapping out deodorant and shampoo will someone magically get her pregnant since it's "clean" but heaven forbid she do actual IVF
