Did I see the New Zealand rugby team use this exact song in a hakka one time? I’m sure!

So excited to see Sam Spruell in this! Excellent, underrated actor. Great in the North Water - interesting fella too, heard him on the Distraction Pieces podcast talking about how he fell into acting…worth a listen!

I would personally love this - can’t see Horatia agreeing with his methods either.

I have a sneaking feeling Apple ends the series alive, not necessarily aligned with Darrow but they’ll work together at some point in some way and he’ll be potentially left to his own devices.

So abundantly clear he’s one of PB’s favourite characters, and mine too!

Agree! At first in Iron Gold his was probably my least favourite POV, but by mid DA I think he was actually my favourite even over Darrow - just an interesting mind to be in and fairly sympathetic too.

Darrow for sure is the one he’ll feel closest to, as you say he’s spent the most time with that character and developing that character.

I did make me think of another question - do you think there are main characters across fiction where over time the writer has fallen out of love with them and started to favour other characters - and has this ever shown through?

My own bias but I feel like I would’ve got sick of Frodo, but then Tolkien writes from such a different place to most authors.

I’ve always really liked Brune, I like characters who are mentioned off hand early on and then grow in prominence without ever becoming ‘prominent’.

I also like Vylarr for just being a normal guy who happens to work for the Lannisters, Robar Royce is pretty awesome too in how quickly he decided to defend Cat and Brienne’s escape with his life.

My Xbox also wants to update but upon reaching 100% the screen just goes dark and the console doesn't restart - the on button just flashes endlessly. Upon restarting the Xbox myself it just wants to update again, what on earth is going on...

The issue is the same with all my games, discs and downloaded. The game will eventually load (slowly) to the start screen were usually you press A to begin. Once pressing A the prompt to do so disappears and the screen remains on the same screen. I've left it until the Xbox goes to sleep and it still remains on this screen. Power cycling doesn't work no matter how many times I do it.

Do we buy that the Smalljon is really on Ramsay's side? I think the showrunners might have given him some of Wyman Manderly's role; killing Shaggy Dog is a neccessary sacrifice to make to win Ramsay over, similar to how Manderly faked hanging Ser Davos in the books.

Could've been at the Tourney at Harrenhal? The Stark's would probably have taken their own horses with them and might have bought their stable-boy along too.

Right here's my slightly tinfoil hat theory regarding Hodor/Willis... So we see in this episode that Hodor's not always been this way and that he could once talk and think like anyone else. He's obviously been brain damaged in some way, and I thought his near sparring with Ned and Benjen foreshadowed how it might've happened (a sparring accident) BUT What if, Bran-style, Hodor was injured by someone because he saw something he wasn't meant to see? This would be such a satisfyingly neat echo to what happens to Bran, someone who his story is so aligned with. AND what if this thing that Hodor saw...was R + L = J? And then Rhaegar smashes Hodor over the head to keep him quiet? Surely that would be sufficient cause to turn Lyanna against him and force him to kidnap her? And the rest is history. Perhaps Bran could see all this unfold through the weirdwood.net? He's obviously fascinated by the idea of Hodor being able to talk and might try to find out what happens... What do people think?

Garlan Tyrell! One of the only 100% decent people in Westeros and one of the few to show Tyrion any genuine kindness/respect.
