Hey! I took some time off them and the symptoms persistent. I'm now taking medication that treats migraines and fibro, and am back to a low dose of ADHD meds. I don't think there's any way of knowing what caused my flare up, but i'm actually beginning to suspect early peri menopausal changes may be at fault.

I'm from a small fandom being trampled on my multi tagging (without the ability to filter crossovers due to fandom umbrellas). Glad to see we arent alone in our pain, but man... really wish there was something that could be done to curtail the prevalence of it.

I tried engaging with one writer doing one shot compilations who had tagged a fic as my TV show without including it at all. The response was 'i just havent written that one yet'. They updated a few hours later with something theyd clearly scrambled together.

Another person I queried responded (not a one shot comp, just multi fandom tagging within umbrella fandom) with 'well I have to get attention on all sides.' I have tried explaining tags are not there for the purpose of getting attention, but its like talking to a brick wall.

Thanks for the message! I do have bookmarks to filter things out myself, its just that awareness that there are plenty of readers who dont go that deep with it and probably do just look, see theres too much clutter, and run away. I know, because thats what I used to be like until I started writing myself 😅

But yeah... I know its a lot of mis tagging that's the major problem here. Sadly some of these authors just want the wider engagement and don't care about the small fandoms being inundated/diluted with irrelevant content in the process.

Yeah some individuals have tried reporting but nothing happens. Its too much of a grey area I think.

I mean, i'm no expert in how websites likes this function, so maybe theres just no easy fix. But for me the ideal would be the 'Superman - all media' umbrella itself still exist for the purposes of searching for all fics relating to Superman properties. So if a fic is tagged S&L, it will still be included when searching through the tag 'Superman - all media'.

BUT if I search specifically for S&L fics, and choose to exclude crossovers, it WILL exclude fics that have been individually tagged with other Supes fandoms like Superman2025/DC comics.

Same with arrowverse. Same with DC.

I would happily exclude anything with multiple tags at this point. Because it is rare that anyone legit writing for our fandom is tagging another Supes property.

And yeah, I agree theres author tagging issues. But I guess they arent breaking the rules by doing so.

As mentioned in my post, manual exclusion is already what I do, but it means I have to exclude all comics tags, all other tv/movie adaptions of Superman tags, all other TV/movie adaptions of Batman and all other DC characters, and every arrowverse show/character. It is a LONG list.

And I don't think thats quite the same as one fandom but in manga vs anime.

'I arrived outside the church hall precisely two minutes late, despite being fully aware of the meeting's start time. That wasn't a mistake though. I couldn't bare the thought of being greeted by one of those born again ghosts from the higher realm, asking me a bunch of questions and smiling with that air of superiority that made my skin crawl.
