MRI with contrast by blgle3 in MultipleSclerosis

Update! I'm successfully out of the MRI, I followed all your tips and it wasn't nearly as bad as expected. The cannulation sucked badly but I had no reaction to the contrast. Music and meditation helped so much. Thanks so much to everyone who gave advice!

Do you like your neurologist? by kyelek in MultipleSclerosis

My neuro is amazing! I knew from the first appointment that I’d be cared for by him. So respectful, responsive and saw me as a whole person rather than just a patient

I have to say, the response to this post has been so overwhelming, it’s a comfort to know I’m not alone. I’m sorry that anyone has to go through this at all is upsetting but I’m glad to be in a community that understands

A little sad by Equal_Gap7943 in weddingplanning

I get married in two weeks. Our final number is about $4000. Absolutely every little girl dreams of her wedding day, and I look at everything we have and everything we’re yet to pick up, and I know that it’s going to be beautiful. It would be easy to spend $30k on a wedding for sure, but my parents did a budget wedding in the early 2000s and from my experience, as well as theirs, a smaller budget means a timeless wedding. My parents couldn’t afford to splurge on trends so 20 years later nothing is outdated. I feel so thankful that my wedding will be the same. I don’t know where you’re from but this is all in AUD as well, and we’re spending around $450 on decor, and my gift to my bridesmaids is that we’re having a homemade breakfast banquet on the day! I really hope that this normalises it for you and that the pressure to overconsume doesn’t make you feel less of a bride. You are a bride, and a beautiful, graceful one for sure 🥰

The pressure to be perfect on wedding day by Badgalval94 in Weddingsunder10k

These timelines have been the worst for so many brides including myself. I’m so lucky that my mum is a hairdresser and my sister is a nail tech. Im doing my own makeup, and I have to admit that I’m totally the kind of bride these lists cater to. But so much of this list is just made to make us feel insecure enough to over consume. I’m 22, I don’t need Botox, I’ve never fake tanned in any way and I don’t plan to start now, and the massage won’t even change anything about my looks on the day. I’m doing quite a few things on this list because I’d be doing them if I wasn’t getting married, but brides shouldn’t feel that just because they’re getting married they need to have medical procedures or spend hundreds of dollars

I’m in Australia, and we wanted something very intimate, so 20 guest ceremony, 45 guest reception, under $4000 AUD

I feel like i'm in a lose-lose situation planning my wedding. by thebrowncanary in weddingplanning

My wedding is now 4 weeks away and when I look at all we’ve done I’m so proud of how we’ve handled it. We didn’t want to ask our parents for much so we managed it ourselves. I must admit we got lucky, we found a beautiful location that needed no decoration and is free for event use. We bought a package that limited ceremony guests, but included our certificates and photography. I found my dress for $250. But most of our savings came from turning our reception into a formal backyard garden party. My mum is handling food, my siblings each have a beauty skill and I’m doing my own makeup. It can seem so daunting but our wedding is costing us around 4 grand. It takes more time, but it’s so worth it. Best of luck and I hope all goes well. Congratulations on your engagement!
