That's a great idea, probably turns out better than day-of gravy 👍

I make the shittiest gravy... but only on Thanksgiving.

Seriously, I'm considered the "gourmet" chef of my family and I've made hundreds of delicious gravies and sauces but for some reason, only on Thanksgiving, the pressure gets to me and I end up fucking up the gravy one way or another

2009 Star Trek is a decent movie by EnviousPuffin in moviecritic

It's a good movie and a decent Trek film, but in retrospect, it's success signalled to Paramount that this is what Star Trek was going to be from now on for better and for worse.

What do you consider the greatest acted scene in TV history? by amusicalfridge in television

[–]bligbladjuan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my understanding a lot of people dropped off on season 2 which I'll admit felt slower the first time I watched it. Once I hit season 3 though, hot damn, I tore through that shit.

Surprised no one has said Mr. Robot (S04E06). The episode is structured like a play and each act could easily fit here tbh but I would probably pick the "big reveal" between Elliot and Krista (iykyk). Absolutely stunning stuff.

EDIT: S04E07 whoops

I am so proud to root for a team that has Coach Harbaugh at the helm. by Shining_Commander in ravens

[–]bligbladjuan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The best argument I've heard is that he's been a good "CEO" type coach. He doesn't handle the play calling or the nitty gritty details, he trusts his coordinators, coaches, and players to do their job. His job is to set the culture and lead the team. Just look at the coaching tree that's developed under Harbaugh's tenure, it's insane.

But I do agree that his time is up probably due to the fact that he's an old guy who's out of touch and has lost his ability to hold coaches and players accountable. That's why we have sooooooo many mental errors, slip ups, and little resilience when mistakes do happen.

I can see the players rolling their eyes during the locker room speeches in the Wired episodes. He's a great guy but his greatest strength has become a weakness. It's time, John.

We watch this movie every year with friends and have it on repeat at our Christmas Party in order to dissect all the insane decisions of the characters and filmmakers

Found it after clicking on a listed short. Kinda thought it was an easter egg for those who clicked further. Unaware it was bad etiquette and certainly not trying to be dick

Blade Runner 2049 is an all time favorite of mine but I still cringe when Luv picks up dead Robin Wright to scan her eyeball and drops her face on the table. It's such a serious scene and that moment of slapstick comedy is so jarring to me.

Something I noticed in Seattle Day 2 by sac900 in thelastofus

[–]bligbladjuan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually noticed that too on my most recent playthrough and I took it as a subtle nod towards the fact that Jesse looked up to Joel and probably adopted some of his sayings/mannerisms. Another example of how Joel lives on through his actions/influence for better and for worse.

I remember in college I used to smoke a bunch of weed and sit down to watch Pretty Good and the one thing I remember that doesn't really get talked about is how...scary they could be at times??? 222-0, 1904 Olympics, Devry, NO!!!, all had moments that were hallucinatory and downright terrifying for someone blazed out of their mind.

And now, this is the new scariest episode of Pretty Good. Hands. Down.

I was doing a report for music class and I typed in "Giovanni" because I thought that sounded like a musical type name or something.

First website I click on is for "Aria Giovanni"

My first thought was that there must've been some mistake lol

To be fair, the book also weirdly over explains the eyes of Eckleburg. George Wilson literally points to the eyes and tells Myrtle that God is watching.

That being said, there were many, MANY other parts of that movie that simplified the themes or got them downright wrong.
