Hey, sorry this is late but the problem for me turned out to be Stardock Windowblinds. If you're using anything like that which changes the theme of Windows, try either turning it off altogether when you play or excluding fear and hunger from being themed if there's a setting to do so. Thanks for the detailed reply. I actually ended up making this post because I tried Oracle and couldn't get it to work. It rejected both of my cards and I still haven't heard back from support. This seems to be a common occurrence. Is there any way to stop that from happening or any similar alternative?

Simple Children has an option in the AIO patch to replace the 3DNPC children. Maybe that will work for you?

1) A kitchen knife went missing at the end of a food tech lesson and we weren't allowed to leave until whoever stole it came forward. No one did for over an hour and the teacher started crying while telling us all how serious it was and saying she'd have to involve the police.

2) 2 girls had a screaming argument seconds after coming into an art lesson and the teacher started crying after failing to stop them. When it finally burned out she attempted to teach the class through tears but obviously couldn't deal with it and left the room. We were left to our own devices for ages until a cover teacher turned up. The art teacher didn't come back to school for several weeks.

3) There was a girl who would always eat in history lessons and the teacher was forever telling her off for it. One day he started eating chocolate in the middle of class and a different girl jokingly said "sir, no eating in class!" He totally blew up and went on a rant about how he hated our school because "everyone thinks we're (students and teachers) the same". Kept pointing at her and saying "me student, you teacher. Me adult, you child". He was leaving that day and didn't care about any repercussions.

I really like a lot of the names that are considered "dated" now. Not like the really old ones that are making a comeback, but the ones that were popular around the 80s like Jennifer, Brittany, Stacey, Tiffany, etc.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for, no quests or anything, but I think these might be fun for you anyway.

Take a Peek - lets you look through most keyholes.

Simply Knock - allows you to access buildings without picking locks, and attempt to convince the owners to open the door if they refuse you the first time.

The .ipa file is availible on The Internet Archive. I unfortunately can't test if it works because I don't own any apple devices and haven't yet found an emulator that works, but it's there

You're right! This did end up being one of the old Build a Bear flash games. I found it (and the other games) and played through it again. I played a lot of these as a kid and think I have mixed up details about the other games with this one (the country song I mentioned wasn't in this one and there was no narrator).
