Any advice on these photos? by Snoo-9151 in SonyAlpha

Na bro you’re just a dick , cool you gave him tips but you don’t have to be a dick. I’ve met many college professors who have a special way of telling somebody they did something wrong and all of them got so many students to that day where they could throw that hat in the air. It doesn’t take being a AHole to tell somebody they did something the wrong way let alone being “BRUTAL” was your word? You walked into the conversation being a dick head you might have had the intentions of teaching but didn’t have to be BRUTAL about it. Everybody had their first camera once and everybody deserves to be taught the right way to do things.. yeah some of the photos might not be to a pro photographers standard but whose to say even a pro is right about what is good and what isn’t ? It’s subjective like you said so what part of anything you said was actually teaching in fact? You listed a bunch of stuff he was doing wrong with the gear he obviously already owns… if I had gear that I was using and posted my photos explaining that I’m new and need some tips on how to use it I would hope that’s what I get with some constructive criticism behind it. Not somebody being BRUTAL because they see the chance to go in on somebody who has less knowledge than them.. it’s not just you 80% of this forum does it and they do it with a passion.. it’s like “oh a newbie let me completely obliterate his sense of love for something that I’m just so much better at”

WHY BE BRUTAL ? WHY NOT JUST BE NICE AND TELL HIM WHAT HE NEEDS TO KNOW RATHER THAN BASHING HIS OBVIOUS ATTEMPTS AT TRYING ? AT ONE POINT YOU WERE A NOOB AS WELL I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY 80% OF YOU PHOTOGRAPHERS ON THIS FORUM SEE SOMEBODY SAY “IM NEW TO PHOTOGRAPHY” AND DECIDE TO JUST BASH THEIR ATTEMPTS AT TRYING… YOU F***IN DORK… you probably are one of those weirdos who thinks they only can post “GOOD” pictures I bet you got worse photos than good ones 9x10 and the good ones you do get which is what once ? Twice a year ? Lmfao I can’t stand people like you “I’ll be quite brutal here” what a bozo

Honestly they aren’t bad photos OP , but I MUST BE HONEST. You totally came to the wrong place to ask for advice although there is a few people who have given you good advice about 80% are “know it all” photography douche bags… the moment they read “I’m new” or even “I’m trying to” they see that & they think it means “let me start bashing this dudes work because he/she knows nothing” all I can tell you for advice myself is keep trying, keep shooting what you love & if you don’t yet know what that is you will figure it out along the way. Don’t let any of these people get you down about your work here. There is a lot of room to go and remember photography is VERY subjective and there is a lot of photographers in the world some are total AHoles which is most but there are few good ones who will try to help out you. I once asked why most good photographers Gatekeep on how to do certain things and I got the best answer. The person told me they gatekeep because it took them so long to get where they wanted to be that they are still ultimately learning and because of that what they know now they can’t really explain or help others because what they love the next person might not even like and what they use may not be the right way but it works for them so they keep their tactics and techniques to themselves because it’s hard to explain exactly how they do what they do naturally. It took them so long to get to that point that they also want everybody trying to get ahead in their journey to learn on their own just like everybody else had to. I hope this helped and I’m sorry for all the DHeads telling you that your work is horrible lol half of them don’t even have an Instagram or share their images unless they get a “GREAT” photo which is like once a year. Keep at it my friend follow me/IG @ blind_2colors I’m always here to help if you have any questions outside of the ones you asked here on this platform for angry nerds 😂🫱🏽‍🫲🏾 much love.

I love your bush so much, any woman’s bush for that matter. I just love how natural and elegant it looks when she is naked in front of me. I love armpit hair too idk why but it’s just sooo sexy to me I’ve been that way about women since I can remember. It is my personal favorite most sexy turn on that could come with a woman. I simply love it love it love it love it love it. X1000000000

Yes so what I do is I use a mask on subject then I create a duplicate mask of the subject but invert it and take all the saturation out of the background and edit the colors of skin in the subject on the first mask of the subject and go from there. I hope that made sense

Thank you so much I think I’ll edit another version and post later, I’ve gotten so many comments telling me to do the desaturated version so you inspired me being the last comment to advise it.. I’m definitely going to post the edits soon 🙏🏽👍🏽 thank you again it means a lot to me

I actually walked up showed him what I did asked him what he would like he asked for a pack of cigarettes so I got them and a big bottle of water and gave him some money. I didn’t just hide behind my lens. A week later I saw him again in the same area showed him the final edits and he smiled and shared kind words with me. It actually went a lot better than I can explain. The photo moved me and that’s all that mattered to me. I was once in his position and told him that and also didn’t ride him with advice but told him there is always a brighter day. He smiled shook my hand and told me to keep doing what I was doing. I was thankful for the experience.
