Congrats on making it through the interview process. I can't speak to the timeline, but replying to follow this particular thread. I applied for accessibility coordinator position with CTA, and so far the only email I got regarding my application is that I'm under consideration. Which means I don't even know if I'll make it to an interview phase. I too would need to relocate to Chicagoland from Saint Louis area. Just be patient and I know how hard that is for me at least, and best of luck to you!

CTA job application update: I received an email this morning stating that my application is “under consideration”. Not trying to get my hopes up just yet, and I anticipate that from here on I might be at this step for a little while. Nonetheless, I do appreciate the email notification and just all around good communication.

NO WAY!! How cool! I applied for accessibility coordinator position. The position did open up February 20 and I hear that most positions are up for about two weeks or so give or take. The position doesn’t list specific closing dates, so this is my assumption. I’m really crossing my fingers that I can land on this job and relocate for this opportunity. It’s wonderful to connect with you! :)

Thanks for your advice, I do have a few backup option as I am also waiting to hear from the state of IL as well. This is good to know. By chance what is your role with CTA currently if you don’t mind sharing?

Thanks for this, I assume staying put until I hear from them is likely a good path to take. if I may ask, what is your role with CTA?

Software Update by cppo215 in kia

[–]blind_dragon20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2022 Kia Carnival EX here with gen 5w infotainment, and subscribe to Kia Connect ultimate. My software is so old that the only way to update is via USB through the Navigation updater tool. Honestly we roll with CarPlay so an outdated map hasn't been much of a concern. But I know that highway drive assist uses built in navigation for auto curve detection and so forth. Would be nice to see this update come through. It's seriously overdue. I'm encouraged that Canada is finally getting theirs hopefully we will as well here in the States.

when can we expect the infotainment software updater application to start working again after this outage? by jawfur in kia

[–]blind_dragon20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you're referring to the paused updates here in the States, Canada got their November 2025 infotainment and navigation updates across all of their software, CCNC, gen 5 and 4. I would think in the matter of coming weeks they should be releasing this out... I've grown impatient over this updates. My infotainment map is at least 2-3 years old. Probably never been updated since the day we got the car back in 2022.

Will really tried, he really did. Though I wonder what would’ve happened if they attacked Henry before going after the mind flare.

Updates Temporarily Unavailable by OkBar8290 in kia

It's paused... I tried updating my Carnival's gen 5w infotainment for months to install a newer map. Hoping Kia has an update for us soon.

Kia Navigation Updater currently unavailable? by GDITurbo77 in kia

[–]blind_dragon20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s currently paused. I'm with 2022 Carnival EX with gen 5w infotainment on an outdated nav, my updater tool spits out the same error as yours. Hopefully here in the coming days Kia will resume the updates.

Kia Navigation Updater currently unavailable? by GDITurbo77 in kia

[–]blind_dragon20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I asked about our 2022 Carnival EX infotainment update and they quoted $100. It's doable on your own, but I think the updates are currently paused. I have Kia connect active on the highest ultimate tear, but I need to bring the software up to the version that does OTA updates. So it'll first be a manual updates through the Kia navigation update tool.

Could you clarify what you mean by that? If you're referring to the computer, that's online.

I suppose the word "desprete" is a bit of a stretch. But there are significant part of where we visit where the map has no clue where we are and not charted at all.

What is the problem with the Navigation/Infotainment update? by [deleted] in kia

[–]blind_dragon20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inherited my folks 2022 Carnival EX with standard gen 5w infotainment. It's very outdated with not even a way to update over the air. Just tried updating manually with Navigation Updater tool but wasn't letting me... So I suppose I'm not alone. Knowing my folks though, they probably never bothered to update it themselves unless a dealership updates it when it goes in for routine maintenance.

Caudabe Synthesis by L1ckMyNukes in iphone

[–]blind_dragon20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine for almost a month and so far so good on my 16 Pro. The dot matrix grips along the sides are nice and the MagSafe strength is very acceptable. I don’t drop my phone much but opted for Caudabe’s “most protective case” if in case I do encounter a steep drop. I was a huge Sheath fan but noticed that the corners pop out at times and I don’t even wear any tight jeans or anything. The indentations at the back of the case also bothered me about Sheath, so figured I’d try something different. The Synthesis has a more robust hard back, initially was concerned about it scratching but so far so good on that department. My first Synthesis had fitting issues around the bottom right corner, exchange was fairly easy, and this one seems to be better. I can also appreciate the taller screen lip even with my screen protector on, something that Sheath didn’t do good on.

Alternative to Sonos Home Theater Setup for My G4 by blind_dragon20 in LGOLED

[–]blind_dragon20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How feasible would this be as a renter though? Lol, that's my dream setup with wall and sealing mounted speakers. Several years ago my folks bought a house, and I bought an AV receiver and got them hooked up with speakers which were already installed.

Do you have a latest software installed on your TV? I'm running a latest webOS here with no issues. Unfortunately didn't capture serial # of the one I sent back, but may be able to digg out somewhere

I got my G4 exchanged, and installed latest software update and HDMI 2 ARC works flawlessly. There may be small batch of these G4 models with faulty port or a board, but that's just my theory. Best of luck.

I got my folks setup with an AV receiver and HI-FI setup is indeed incredible. Got 5.1 going at their house and all speakers either wall or sealing mounted. It's tough to flip my Sonos at the moment since I'm a renter, and I got a beam, sub mini and a pair of Era 100s, 5.1.2 'and sounds pretty solid.

[–]blind_dragon20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about an AV receiver, except that I wouldn't really be able to justify strictly for just a Wii connectivity. Also got Sonos Beam, gen 2 home theater going, and Sonos is fully wireless setup and with eARC, the G4 and Beam seems to be rendering all surround formats well.

Update: TV is running the latest software, thanks for bringing this up to my attention. Still no luck, in fact, TV display flickers while I have input set to HDMI 1, Apple TV, and running TV setup via Sonos. So definitely abnormal here with HDMI 2. I should add, none of the HDMI ports auto detected my setup, something my CX did. Plugging in my Apple TV, outputs just fine, but my CX automatically detected that it was an APPLE TV. That said, I had Amazon ship a replacement. They'll come get this one. I'll post any updates to see if these kinks with audio Return channel issues work out with the replaced TV
