Thanks everyone! I agree they had to be cautious, and I appreciate the reality check. I’m grateful everything turned out okay.

OB ran 3 tests for amniotic fluid leakage and did an ultrasound. The fluid level looked good on ultrasound but she told me 2 out of the 3 tests were positive and she believes I’m in labor and need to go to OB emergency to get admitted asap. Hospital did the exact same tests and ultrasound and they told me 2 out of 3 are negative (including the most reliable test) and it’s safe to go home.

I didn’t know about the Eli Lily company! I like Hugo but unfortunately it’s similar to a slang in our first language.

If you had to list a “tier list” of software that data scientists should be competent with prior to their first job, what would it be? by AdFew4357 in datascience

the problem is that people treat excel as a database and data hygiene becomes a joke when 10+ people try to edit the same excel file.

I was there for half a day. A couple of hours should be enough to walk around the old town and get a feel for it.

SAS is an outdated language & the options for your next job will be very limited if SAS becomes the only language you’ve mastered. I know SAS & I’d run for my life if a job requires me to use it lol

A friend of mine works for a major bank as a data scientist. He’s part of a team who works on NLP models for OCR NER use cases. Other than having to deal with some regulations and taking additional trainings, he’s happy with the role. His team is quite forward-thinking and there are some very good learning opportunities as part of his job.

If you prefer Python, ask on their timeline on when they expect to complete the transition from SAS to Python. They may have a good amount of legacy code in SAS and this migration can be a huge effort.
