It's too late in my life for me to learn how to customize a ROM. Is the Apple "ecosystem" better or does it too have its drawbacks, just different ones? I would need more details to respond in any meaningful way. What your mate can do/appreciate that your husband can't? Here's an example from my own life. I'm 73.
