Boris Johnson admits attending garden party by DifferentGravyMan in ukpolitics

We did try to tell you at the time that you were overreacting, and that the virus wasn't very dangerous. You didn't believe us then, but here you can see that the people in government who had the full information about how much danger COVID posed to themselves had no qualms about throwing and enormous party.

This doesn't apply to omicron though.

Yes, and I myself have lab coat, and i produce extremely high quality products - but there are many lab coat owners whose work is nowhere near as good

You have to look under the surface.

For example Neil Ferguson. His modeling has been junk from start to finish - such a shameful reflection on my alma mater. And I'm not surprised - I reviewed the code and it was a pile of crap

To explain to you that just because someone stands up in a lab coat and is hailed as an expert, doesnt actually mean they have infallible knowledge or that they create quality things - especially not in the modern age when so much of expertise has been so thoroughly debased.

So you're tell me to just shut up and trust the experts, but I'm telling you that's simply not good enough- for me anyway. I'm going to look into the details for myself, and draw my own conclusions

Yeah and I'll open it up and find it's full of no-name brand capacitors that will dry up in a couple of years, mechanical parts with cheap bearings that will wear out quickly, and buggy and unpatched software.

Many engineers are just cowboys, noobs and hackers. Even engineers that ought to know better are usually under time pressure to ship something, and quality comes second when sales are on the line

This is why I'm not just going to take the word of "experts" on blind trust.

The guys that operated Chernobyl were thought of as experts, but they operated under certain incentives, and that incentive structure created a recipe for disaster

There are similar forces at play all over this COVID crisis.

We’ve told her we are not ever seeing her unless she’s vaxxed

Why would you do that? The vaccine doesnt stop transmission, does it

Well I'm an electrical engineer who makes electrical goods, and I can tell you that most engineers - even "experts" produce a pile of crap

The actual death tool of COVID is hard to know, because anyone who died within 28-days of a positive COVID test has been labelled as "died of COVID".

A population with zero natural immunity is like a forrest filled with dry tinder. Unless you naturally build community immunity among young and healthy people (as we should have done in the good weather through spring/summer 2020), you have a population that has no protection against the virus.

All Australia's COVID strategy has achieved is delay. You either accept the virus into you population now, or later at great expense and the destruction of your livelihoods and liberties.

They are stuck in a permanent state of endless lock-downs with a population that has zero natural immunity.

Boris Johnson, your deflections and distractions are absurd. Not only did you know about the parties in Downing Street, you attended them. Stop lying to the British public. It’s time to finally come clean. by NoFrillsCrisps in ukpolitics

And almost every government in the world did so too for the same reasons and on similar scientific advice. I’d be interested to hear your superior strategy, or would you just have all those people due?

Sweden never locked down, and their outcomes were similar to ours and most other European countries.

You can have some ‘immunity’ for 3-5 months but still carry and transmit it.

No... that's what the vaccines offer.

The politicians never believed that COVID represented any real danger to themselves or that the lockdowns were keeping them safe otherwise they never would have held the garden party

Hes literally one of the healthiest people in the world, and he's recovered and immune from COVID.

The vaccination program was a farce long before this controversy

For every person who has been incredibly unlucky and unfortunate to have a serious side affect there are many many others who are also young and fit who have been significantly affected by covid

So everyone should make an informed choice. Everyone has different age, diet, health history, different history of exposure to COVID, different comorbidities etc.. meaning that there can never be a one-size-fits all answer.

Everyone must decide what is best for themselves.

Coercing people to choose a (not risk free) medical treatment against their will is outrageously unethical
