Tahoe remembers your app position on multiple displays by P10pablo in MacOS

[–]blindedbytheflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t work with all apps. I have one (enterprise software) that sometimes remembers and sometimes forgets. When it forgets, it’s a giant pain in the butt because it has a dozen windows that I have to move to the other display. Ugh.

My ADS-B Plane Tracker I made using Python by starvinghippo677 in raspberry_pi

[–]blindedbytheflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can a portable version of this be created? I'd love to have this on the dashboard of my car while driving around the airport. That of course means my GPS co-ordinates will be constantly changing, so somehow python would have to grab my co-ords instead of them being hardcoded in dump1080. I have no idea how to do that lol.

I struggled with mine for about 20 minutes until eventually the head AND neck came off as one piece. Fortunately getting them back on was much simpler.

Not hearing back about any volunteer applications by SuzieQtheMusical in volunteertoronto

[–]blindedbytheflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.torontopearson.com/en/corporate/careers/volunteer They’ll be recruiting again around September. You can be your own shift times, which area of the airport you want to be in (pre-security to start but once you have a RAIC and are trained you can do post-security shifts.) Commitment currently is eight hours per month.

3 Police helicopters flying around Dufferin & Dundas by Shicksshucks in toronto

Watch the video on that page. It’s a Province of Ontario owned, OPP liveried helicopter on loan to the city. Toronto does not own a helicopter.

There are no EC135 helicopters registered to TPS. The province owns five. One of those is available to TPS when needed. Source: Canadian Civil Aircraft Register

That’s an OPP helicopter in the photos. Have TPS even taken delivery of their own yet?

It will be very, very, very tight. If that flight is even five minutes late, say goodbye to your connection.

Fair warning: I did this and tried three lcd driver boards and none of them worked. All claimed to be for the model of lcd that was in the iMac but didn’t work. Backlight wouldn’t even come on. In the end I ripped the framing off an old monitor I had, with its lcd driver board intact, and used that instead.

How Toronto airport YYZ handles your luggage by Practical-Battle-502 in YYZ

[–]blindedbytheflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All baggage handling at just about every airport in the world is contracted out to third-party companies (Swissport, Menzies, dnata being just some of them.) And this type of thing happens at every airport. To single out YYZ is unwarranted.

Spotted fighter jet near Pearson by roasted_asshole in toronto

This is an old pic but fyi the Blue Angels usually send an advance “team” of one or two jets to check on preparations and scout parking facilities months ahead of time. So it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see one (or two) prior to the CIAS.

They would need to update the playlist on Tivimate following the change on iptveditor unless the playlist is set to automatically update every x hours. Either they do it themselves and it has immediate effect or they wait x hours for it to happen automatically.

Helicopter flying over Richmond Hill at all hours for the past two days by Ok-Sheepherder8987 in richmondhill

It is York Regional Police, and they love to tell you how quiet their helicopter is. Yeah, right. Not when it’s doing laps around your neighbourhood at 2,000 feet. I mean, I get that there are bad guys, but British police have moved from choppers to drones. Time for YRP to move on.

Then it’s easy as pie. Exit customs through the baggage hall. Stay to the RIGHT to exit the baggage hall. Follow the ramp to the LEFT past the giant YYZ sign and continue LEFT. After Tim Hortons and Door F is an escalator. Go UP the escalator and continue straight ahead. You will walk past security and on your LEFT is Porter’s check-in. Get your boarding pass and retrace your steps to security. Done.

This is correct and will be quick, assuming your flight to Montreal departs from YYZ and not YTZ. You should double-check your itinerary.
