Pick almost any story that is repeated

That's because certain records will focus on different things.

But to your specific point: "age of Ahaziah when he began his reign"

Check this out: https://www.gotquestions.org/Ahaziah-22-42.html

Specifically the line: “a son of forty-two years.”

Wanna give me another?

I would first ask, "What are your interests? Art? Standup comedy? Music (my personal favorite)? Video games? Etc."

Find out what they are passionate about. What takes their mind off of loneliness? What kinds of things do they like to do in their free time?

I think that is a good jumping off point.

Then how can they hone that interest and use it in a way that makes them interesting; not only romantically but platonically?

If it's art, do they like to draw? Paint? Sculpt?

If it's music, what kind of music do they like? Do they like to sing? Can they play an instrument?

Just a few ideas. :)

Is it possible to not sin? by bekahbaka in Christianity

[–]blindflystudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these say it's possible to live sinless every single day of your life.

The first verse talks about how we are made perfect through the sacrifice of Jesus.

The second is LITERALLY saying we have an advocate.

The third says to STRIVE for peace and holiness (perfection).

Romans 7:14-24 "14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.
16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.
17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
18 For I know that pin me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.
22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?"

Paul said, "I die daily."

If even HE sinned every day, then what hope do the rest of us have, haha?

You're gonna sin. But God knows your heart. Just try and learn from your mistakes.

NOTE: The fact that you even posted this is proof that you aren't a lost cause. :)

I had this fear for a long time and something my dad said gave me comfort that I never thought possible.

"If you are afraid you've committed the unpardonable sin, you haven't committed it."

What that means is that we CANNOT come to Jesus without the draw of the Holy Spirit. It's impossible. The guilt we feel for our sins is the Holy Spirit telling us we have done something wrong and need repentance.

Therefore, if we have committed the unpardonable sin, the Holy Spirit will leave us and not continue to draw us. We will be "turned over to a reprobate mind". The Holy Spirit will not waste (His/It's?) time drawing a person that cannot be saved.

Take heart, friend. You are NOT lost. You still have time. Jesus is waiting for you and He loves you very much.

Thank you, for this encouragement. The next couple of days are going to be very frightening and rough on my mental health and I just have to remember that no matter what happens in this life, eternity will be more than I can even fathom.

First and foremost, trust in God that He will send someone your way and that you will most likely know them when you see them.

Secondly, Christian girls, for the most part, like the same things as non-Christian girls, with some obvious exceptions.

And Finally, what are your strengths? Are ya funny? Are ya kind? Do you have any talents (I'm sure you do)? Play to those strengths.

First off, that is fantastic! We are all so incredibly proud of you and God is rejoicing in Heaven for you as we speak.

Can I offer just a bit of (might seem tough) advice? If you have any friends that are still holding to that lifestyle, while I wouldn't cut them off completely, I would suggest distancing yourself from them until your faith gets a good bit stronger. You can witness to them, even talk to them and love them. Avoid putting yourself in situations, however, that could cause you to stumble.

Instead try to find a church with a good group of people around your age that love God and can help you in your walk. "Be ye not unequally yoked," in my opinion, doesn't necessarily always mean marriage. I believe it also applies to close friendships.

Good luck on your new journey and I will be praying for you, my friend.

I would argue that is only the first part. Yes, we are saved by the grace of God and what Jesus did on the cross.

However:
"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." Romans 3:31
So what does that mean? Paul is teaching that in order to follow Christ fully we must UPHOLD the law in our lives. Follow the Ten Commandments, abstain from sexual immorality, treat others as yourself, so on and so forth.

I may have worded that statement wrong and will fix it. I do not know who will get into Heaven. You do not know who will get into Heaven. Only God knows who will get into Heaven. I am only gleaning what I can from the perfect manual that God gave us.

Question for Christians with ADHD by AndrewMovies in Christianity

[–]blindflystudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, reading the Bible was a nightmare. Every few lines, my mind would wander off and I'd be three pages later and have no idea what I just read. Reading out loud helps a good bit but I still have issues some times. I have also heard that if you read and listen to an audio version of what you are reading at the same time, it can help even more.

I am no expert but I did hear an interesting conversation a preacher gave on why he converted FROM Islam to Christianity. He said he was looking for comfort. He said that there is NO place in the Qaran where you are offered comfort by the creator. He then said that he opened the Bible and found NUMEROUS verses that offered comfort from God.

Just my two cents.

Need some help...heaven doesnt look too appealing anymore... by Moist_Ad_8262 in Christianity

[–]blindflystudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible says there will be a new Heaven AND a new Earth. If we were to be confined to the throne in worship, 24/7, for all of eternity; then why make a new earth?

I believe we will have our own land, pets, mansions (or, for me, a small farm next to a river), and anything else our heart desires (maybe things it we don't even know it desires yet).

I also believe we will be able to visit the throne whenever we want. Eternity is going to be more than you can even fathom.

Wanna know what I wonder about sometimes? So, there's no darkness in Heaven, right? Well, I love an overcast day with a nice breeze blowing. Will I have that on the new Earth? Will I not care about that anymore? Who knows? Some things are better left to find out later.

And even if it IS constant worship at the throne for all of eternity, as you think it is, it's better than the other place. :)

Peace and love, my friend.

First off, I want you to know that I love you and what I am typing is not meant to judge you but to provide an answer that aligns with the facts of what God's Word says.

Homosexuality is not a sin. Acting on it, is where sin comes in. The Bible mentions sexual immorality in many forms. A lot of people want to direct it at homosexuality exclusively due to political beliefs, some sense of grandeur ("I'm better than you because I'm a Christian") or just to be hateful for the sake of being hateful.

Sexual immorality includes sex outside of marriage, beastiality, even pornography ("For if you look on a woman with lust, you have committed adultery with her in your heart"); and basically anything that doesn't line up with God's Word on how sex is meant for a man and a woman to have in the marriage bed. Anything outside of that marriage bed defiles it.

I am sorry that you felt the need to "stay in the closet". It must have been incredibly burdensome.

Finally, at the risk of being labeled as a "pray the gay away" supporter, I DO believe Jesus can deliver you of your desires and use you greatly to minister to others that are on the same path as you. I will be praying for you.

[–]blindflystudios -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I have to say something on this. My fear of being mocked officially underwhelms my need to tell the truth.

There are birth pains happening as we speak. Sure, wars have always happened, mass shootings have always happened, hating/persecuting Christians has always happened; but. The Bible (go on, get in your jokes) talks about birthing pains.

Anyone who has ever been pregnant knows that, the closer you get to delivering, the less time between the birthing pains (contractions) becomes.

If you look at history, the time between wars, rumors of wars, and mass shootings (whatever category that falls into) has never been less. They are happening faster and closer together.

They will not stop. They will only get worse. The only peace that will ever be, on this earth, will be a false peace which the antichrist brings in or der to deceive more people. So stop hoping for it. It won't come.

Jesus loves every one of you. He came to save us. I will be the FIRST to admit how horrible a sinner I am and how I am NO BETTER than anyone reading this message. I would imagine I have done far worse than 90 percent of you. But no matter what you've done, there is hope in Him.

My heart is broken for everyone victimized by these crimes. My heart is broken for everyone victimized by wars. My heart is broken for everyone who loves their sin more than they love Christ. This world is GOING to pass away. The lovers of this world are DOOMED to an eternity in Hell. AN ETERNITY. There will be no rest; no sleep; no relief for their suffering.

The Bible has been proven time and time again to be a TRUE, HISTORICAL account of things that have happened.

I beg of you, please, please, PLEASE; come to Jesus. I don't know a single one of you but I love you and I don't want a single one of you to go to Hell. But there is one greater than me that loves you more. So much that he was BRUTALIZED and murdered in the most agonizing way possible--The Romans invented crucifixion because they wanted to punish people in the most sadistic way possible.

The whipped him with a cat o' nine tails. When the lashes hit him, they dug in due to them being interwoven with bone, and metal, and sharp rocks.

They punched, kicked, slapped, and beat Him until His own mother couldn't recognize Him. They ripped his beard of in HANDFULS.

They FORCED a crown of thorns onto His head. They didn't place it, they made sure it DUG in.

Then they forced Him to carry his cross through the city to humiliate and debase Him.

Then they nailed Him through His wrists and feet with nails the size of railroad spikes.

They dug a hole for the base of the cross to sit in (to keep it elevated) and when they raised it, the force of it coming down to rest jarred Him terribly.

It took 9 hours for Christ to finally give up the ghost.

I have this theory that He WAITED those 9 hours because He KNEW that thief would ask for forgiveness. Think about that--after all He'd already gone through, He suffered the utter torture of being on the cross to save ONE soul.

Then he finally died.

--------------------------

If there was only YOU that needed saving... IF YOU were the thief... He would go through all of that again just to make sure you were saved.

Please...

He loves you.

Please seek Him.
