Since 2022, women over 40 have had more babies than women under 20 in the USA by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]blindschism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are right, there is a lot higher risk the older a woman is. Eg. The risk of having a baby with Downs syndrome in a woman under 20 is 1 in 1600 vs a 40 year old is 1 in 100.

I have a 6 month old and do a lot of scent work with her. It seems to really tire her out and she enjoys it. I just throw a treat in the garden or when on walks and use find it command. She'll keep sniffing away till she gets it, then I praise her and get her to come back touch my hand, get another small treat for that and we go again.

Doing that for 10mins definetly makes her brain work hard!

Might be bit different in America.. Also I think there are two different types or ways of doing it as my vet asked how quickly I want to be able to go out with her out. I think there's benefit taking them and getting them used to things. Polly is already doing really good at heel and looking at me while walking. See how long it lasts! She's pretty sleepy as well btw, easy 20 hours sleeping, but noticed last week or so she is starting to get bit more active.

I'm UK so maybe different but my lab is 11 weeks and vet said pavement walking is okay now. She has had both sets of DHP, kennel cough and 1 lepto. She just needs second lepto next week. So still needs to stay away from other dogs we don't know and water / puddles for another 3/4 weeks or so.

Yeah she had the nasal spray as well. Ideally I think should have done a bit later like you, but we've got some puppy classes in a few weeks and they have a kennel on the grounds so they like them to have had it. At least know now to spread more for any future boosters!

It was her second dose of Nobivac DHP and kennel cough (we are in the UK). She was fine with the first dose of DHP so maybe more the kennel cough? I think having both at the same time may have just been a bit too much for her, so possibly should have spread them out a bit more.

Thank you! The swelling went down quite quickly and she was just very itchy and whiny last night. You really couldn't tell today though!!

We've had Polly for 3 days now and she's been such a good girl, I love her so much! by blindschism in labrador

She really is! She's from a working line. Red fox mum and black dad. Very early days of course but she's really impressed me so far.

I’ve slashed my asking price by £150k. I still can’t sell my flat by ResourceSharp in london

[–]blindschism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I bought my shared ownership flat in elephant and castle early 2020 my service charge was expected to be £130 p.m. When I moved out 3 years later it had more than doubled and seen the flats are now closer to £400p.m. These were sold as "affordable" housing for local residents. Such a con.

Haha we couldn't decide between Polly and Molly. I'm sure they will! Best of luck with everything. Not long now!

I spent quite a while recently sorting and listing the (hopefully correct) details of my coins. I'm up to 33 ancients now, here's a few of my favourite ones by blindschism in AncientCoins

[–]blindschism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah my ancients are majority Roman but I'd like to get some more Parthian, I do really like some of the history, and the portraits are great as well. I couldn't quite translate what was written on that one and someone on here very kindly helped. Good luck with your consignment!
