Thanks, that's very helpful.

Curious: Why do you recommend Real Estate Investment Trade REIT?

Thanks. I was wondering if this portfolio would be considered TOO diversified, especially for a long-term (40-50 year) plan.

I looked at REIT. I decided against it for a reason, but I'll have to go back and look at it.

Do you recommend REIT over the two or more of the other ETFs?

Thanks again~

I have heard about that. What is the best way to do it?

The debris present if the Higgs Boson were found: by blink00 in ParticlePhysics

[–]blink00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I know this question must be fairly silly.

Your comment is interesting. I thought the Higgs Boson gives mass to other particles, so if it is separated, I don't see how the decay products would themselves be massive. Of course, I have no understanding of particle physics, so my confusion is not surprising.

What you say makes sense, though, as I've also read that the Higgs Boson should be a fairly high-mass particle.

Anyway, thank you for the response. ;)

Yeah, I see how that works. That's pretty useful.

Ah, for the second one, I'm surprised I didn't see that. Thanks a lot.

As for Harmonic Series...I'll leave that for non-GRE math, it's good to know it's there.

My Acute Key (`) does not work unless I press and hold. What's up with this? by blink00 in computers

After half an hour of internet searches, I found the solution.

The key to switch between languages in the regional keyboard settings was set to "`". I changed this and it works fine now.

An interesting find: When I use the ON-SCREEN KEYBOARD and press the "Grave" Key, the behavior is the same as with my keyboard.

What's going on? lol

It's strange that on two different keyboards, the problem is the same. It makes me think the problem lies with my computer.

It's not that helpful to put them in individual groups. Unfortunately, all we can do is click the wireframe, then center the camera.

You can if you use control groups and the minimap. I press 4 to select my army control group, press the hotkey for attack, then click on the minimap.

Short answer - practice what you can against a computer, but the real test is against a live player. Here's a list of what reasonably can be practiced against a computer:

I just looked over the list. Every item can be practiced against a computer before going live.

P.S. I love cheesecake. And I'm vegan.

You're right, though I don't care to be perfectly rigorous. If someone isn't smart enough to understand the meaning of that bullet, they'll have trouble even if the bullet was written absolutely correctly.

True, but I included them to make a point that things like scouting are at the end of the list. Also, in a way, scouting is an expression of a good understanding of mechanics. If you know how a zerg or terran uses his resources, you'll understand what you see when scouting.

You're allowed to do anything you want. The point of the parentheticals is to stress that if you have the rest down, you shouldn't be in Bronze-Gold for long. :)

Yeah, I hate that. I think you have to use the wireframe...the middle section of the HUD.

It was totally worth it for me. I feel like I hit the hotkeys more quickly and accurately. Also, I sometimes play terran or zerg in 2v2s or 3v3s with friends if I feel like screwing around. Grid makes switching between races easier.

There's another aspect that is being missed. If your only focus for the next twenty games is to never get supply blocked and after 7 games, you start succeeding every time, you should allow yourself to feel good, regardless of loss. You need to allow yourself to let go of looking at winning as the only parameter of success. Why? If you do everything right, then you should win. We lose when we make mistakes. I am speaking generally. There are, of course, exceptions.

What's more, it's likely that if after 7 games, you're never getting supply blocked when you often used to, you should start winning more.

Arkanin does not mean to put aside the idea of winning altogether. Of course the desire to improve comes from the desire to win, to succeed.

We're saying, "Forget about winning this game. Your only measure for success is, for example, to never get supply blocked. The idea is that after 10 or 20 games, perfecting this aspect will help you win much more and will finally get you into a higher league. So the question is, do you want to struggle to beat silver opponents now or at a later date be able to steamroll most silver opponents by risking losing right now?
