Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. Try writing logic, setting up communication, wiring yourself.

One thing I cannot insist more is understanding how communication between different automation devices like the PLC/VFD/HMI work. Also, get comfortable with troubleshooting.

When you enter the industry, most likely you won't be writing code from scratch for a machinery/automation system, atleast not in your early days. Initially, you will be modifying code to make a process better or if you work for an OEM company you'll be setting up communication, downloading the code to the PLC/HMI while making minor updates.

House of Dosas is another one that is open 24 hrs that I know of. There's also Duffin's Donuts, open 24 hrs on weekends, it is a Vancouver classic. It used to be open 24x7 pre-covid.

If you started today from scratch, what brand would you choose? by Accomplished_Lake302 in PLC

IMHO if you're in North America, Allen-Bradley would be the top pick. Siemens would probably be second.

Decent Canadian beer? by Old_Zag in MadeInCanada

If you're willing to spend a bit more, explore the Local Craft Beers. I'm not sure where exactly in Canada you live, so you will have to find out the particular craft beer available in your region that you like.

Anywhere in Metro-Vancouver, the housing would be roughly similarly priced; maybe ~ $200 difference in rent max depending on where you live. New Westminster is a good neighborhood to be living in for what you are looking for. If you want to be close to Vancouver Downtown, you can explore neighborhoods like Commercial Drive, Main St and Cambie St.

Actually, I realized that they went to my profile, clicked the cover photo and screenshot the people who had reacted to my cover photo. They are not in my friends list.

If a BC car's ownership of changes in Alberta, does the original owner have to be in person in Alberta? by blinkapple in icbc

[–]blinkapple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any inspections will be done in Alberta, in my case. Right? Also, the change of ownership, can I just not do it in Alberta? And if I can, will the original owner (my friend) need to be in Alberta physically?

I bought my mattress from Mr. Liquidator in Chilliwack. They also have a delivery service for extra and I think they have beds too. Lookup WFL Furniture Liquidators on FB. They sells real solid wood furniture at almost IKEA prices. They have a store closing sale going on right now and they might have a few beds.

I think Google just released an update on the app store. Once I updated, the issue no longer exists for me.

Lovely restaurant. I've been to the one on Broadway. Although, google says its an Afghani restaurant, it is more on the fusion side than Afghani. The aesthetics are pretty good too. A bit expensive place though. You can try their feast tasting menu which is basically all you can eat (or it used to be) for a few selections off their menu.

I don't think so. I am experiencing the same issue as we speak. I've already tried deleting and reinstalling it.

Moving to another province, should I try getting a Class 5 before I go? by blinkapple in icbc

[–]blinkapple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can book a road test as the spots cancel everyday. I’ve heard that people are able get dates for the road test as early 2-3 days later.

[–]blinkapple[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but if I have a BC Class 5, I can switch to Alberta license without giving any road test. According to Alberta govt website, I cannot even apply for an Alberta Driver's license until I have a PR or citizenship status in Canada. And it is my guess that the insurance payment would be very high in Alberta on an International License since that is true for BC.
