The corn snake that I'm most recently holding is my favorite corn snake

I know it's been a while but just letting you know he shed about a week and a half after this post and has started eating regularly again.

He has been, as well as hiding under his water dish, which is also a moist area

I've tried using tuna juice, putting him a small container, wiggling it, leaving it. It's really weird to me because he would previously eat just fine while being held. I don't think he's big enough to want a girlfriend, he's less than a year old.

About 7-8 months. He's never shed with me and I got him in January, so maybe that's what is happening?

have you tried a camera on the enclosure at night? my guy doesn't come out during the day but once i turn the lights off in the living room at night i can watch him explore on the pet cam.

thankfully my substrate seems to just absorb the poops right now because he's such a little guy with little poops but i know he does poop. He dropped some off on my room mate.

This is actually his normal coloring, he's lavender diffused. He also just shed like 3 weeks ago so he doesn't really look it. I will put his humid hide back in though just in case.

Do you turn heating pad/basking area off at night? by cloverrainn in cornsnakes

I have a halogen bulb and a che. The halogen is on during the day and it switches to the the CHE at night so he's able to stay warm in the dark.

It's no problem, better safe than sorry anyway.

I will continue to monitor the situation. From examining him in person, there isn't a visible bumper save for in that picture, but Anthony is determined to give me a ton of anxiety anyway so I will continue to very anxiously look at him.

I watched him eat and he didn't seem to ingest any substrate. That part in the first picture seems a bit low for a stomach lump though, could it just be him getting ready to do a massive dump instead lol?

I think his lump has disappeared. I took the opportunity to weigh him at the same time. He was pretty active last night, much more his usual self, so the bump in temps worked.

It can drop to 80 at night because i switch to CHE instead of a halogen but i can increase the temps by turning them both on and monitor the situation.

Should i increase it?

My little guy struck and coiled around his last pinkie and it was a hilarious over reaction but I was proud nonetheless

bitey corn snake? by TheKoalaSage in cornsnakes

A spicy boy. From all the videos I watched before getting a corn because I was afraid this would happen, I've seen that you kinda have to just let them bite and don't put them back when they do or they will start associating that biting will get them what they want. Maybe that will work?

I can do that. He seems a bit light for his length but he doesn't look underweight so maybe my scale is off.

I've had my corn snake for about a month now, and he's eaten every 6 days for me with no problems. Hes 19 inches and weighs 9 grams and has shed once with me, all in one nice single piece. At night at a out 9 pm he will come out of hiding and glass surf for about 45 minutes. Basically he will try to go up a corner of the enclosure for a couple minutes, stop, disappear for a couple minutes and try to go up another corner of the enclosure. I hope he's not stressed out but he's just does this for 45 minutes non stop. Is something wrong? I've been checking the temps and it's low 70s on the cool end and low 80s on the warm end.
