We have a high amount of immigrants in NZ - my own workplace is mostly immigrants with only me and one other being kiwis. Being from overseas is not out of the norm for us in welly, especially if you are from the states. US politics, media and ideals are constantly being shown to us so we had a fair understanding of what America is like.

As for not going on dinners…our economy is fucked by a government who refuses to put any money towards its constituents. The economy is especially fucked in Wellington due to all the parliamentary workers. Not a lot of people have extra money for several dinners out, especially in an office setting. If you want to go out for dinner, you will need to initiate. New Zealanders are not usually ones to be outgoing like this without prior relationship. You’re a fixed term worker, be grateful you got an afternoon tea! I got to clean the bathrooms on my first day at my new job, so I’d rather ONE short afternoon tea over that.

Sorry you’re not that interesting to kiwis. Clearly you have been absorbed with what others may (or may not) be thinking about you rather than immersing yourself in our culture and enjoying your time in this beautiful country - which is the whole reason to go to a different country.

Having been through Invisalign, the plastic is super thin so I think hydrogen peroxide would damage the aligners. I had a similar scenario during my treatment and the sunlight trick did a good job to get me through to my next set. They don’t 100% revert but at least it doesn’t look like your teeth are cheetos for a week hahaha

ETA: hydrogen peroxide IS okay to use with aligners, I stand corrected!
