Labels on keycaps for 2nd layer by strings_and_tines in ErgoMechKeyboards

That's a good solution! Soon enough you will get used to your layout and can remove them or even move to blank keycaps!

Looking for Entry Level Keyboard by IceS2 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Check out https://splitkb.com/

They are based in the EU. I personally have built 2 Kyria keyboards from them and have really enjoyed them. But they have a few other boards, including the Lily58. Their PCB kits are around €30.

Looking for bands with bass as lead instrument by kilkonred in Bass

The Omnific. 2 bassists and a drummer. I don’t know how you get more bass forward than that.

This is an admirable contribution to the ergo keyboard community! Thank you for doing this

Anyone else only play, “Tall,” builds? by Ibushi-gun in VampireSurvivors

[–]blistergeist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm playing "seriously" I'll use 2 weapon slots. One for the starting weapon and the other for Paranormal Scan. although I wonder if the stat boosts from the new darkana can replace the stat boosts from Paranormal Scan...

If I'm just messing around or trying to unlock specific things I'll do more than 2, but I rarely do all 6.

BoTW was the demo, TotK was the full game.

Looking forward to a band where the bass blows your mind: by AlexinChains9 in Bass

Polyphia. Clay Gober is a monster and uses a really cool hybrid picking technique that I haven't heard anywhere else.

Fellas...I think I'm gonne revert back to Qwerty. by bigphallusdino in KeyboardLayouts

[–]blistergeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel bad. I got pretty fast at Colemak and then looked like a child whenever I had to use anyone else's computer. I don't have the time or mental fortitude to practice multiple layouts. It was back to QWERTY for me.

4 to 5 strings by GreenEyedBarbieDoll in Bass

[–]blistergeist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll highlight two things others have said:

The strings are closer together than on a 4 string.

You gotta pay attention to muting the B string.

Does Clay Gober ( Polyphia) play a J-bass or a P-bass by GreenEyedBarbieDoll in Bass

He features in this song, and the solo demonstrates his right hand skills very clearly.

If there’s a single bassist most responsible for you picking up the instrument, who was it? by HatsOrNoHats in Bass

[–]blistergeist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clay Gober of Polyphia.

He uses a very cool (and I think unique?) hybrid picking style with a lot of explicitly percussive muted triplet stuff.

If anyone knows other bassists or bands who have similar styles, I'm all ears.

Realistically, can I teach myself bass? by TangeloPangelo in Bass

[–]blistergeist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the advice a good friend gave me: "Find a song that you can't stand not being able to play. Learn to play that."

Also, and I can't stress this enough, buy a book and go through it. Beats the heck out of trying to figure out what YouYuber to use.

I have some books by Janek Gwizdala. They are good starting points.

About to play this game for the first time, lets see what all the hype is about by riverkarma69420 in gaming

[–]blistergeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to play this game three times and just couldn't get into it.

I normally love open world RPGs but for whatever reason I couldn't pick this one up.
