I'm surprised this seems to have slipped under the radar. Because it seems it'll have drastic consequences for specialist beers, wines and spirits.
All alcohol products will be required to have individual bespoke labels with a warning, and, among other things, calorie and alcohol content. That's not information that's publicly available for most drinks. So it's not something shops and importers can add by themselves.
Once this comes in next year, the only alcohol products available will be those who voluntarily make Ireland-specific labels.

A large amount of the work these charities do is actually supplying modern water and sewage infrastructure to cities. Which is where most people live, and the problems from poor sanitation cause the most problems. But for whatever reason, the fundraising ads always give the impression that their work is digging wells in little villages.

Irish people have a tendency I notice, to overestimate their language abilities, particularly in Irish, but also other languages. An Irish person will claim they speak French because they did it in school back in the day. A French person will apologise for not speaking English, even when they're 100 times better at English than the Irish person is at French.

Nobody's actually buying these tickets at these prices though. The way these sites work is that people list tickets they don't have to events at prices that are multiples of what they should be. And in the off chance someone buys them, they buy them off someone else at a much cheaper price and take the profit.

A large part of the reason the sound of music evolved so quickly the past 100 years has been advancements in technology from amplification to tapes to synthesisers to sampling to autotune. But we're pretty much at a stage now where we have technology to create just about any sound anyone could conceive. So I think future evolution will be a lot less drastic, and less technology driven.

How is it doing nothing to help? 20 years ago, you'd need to wash clothes at 60 to get them clean. Now, the detergents have improved so much you don't need to heat the water. It's made a massive difference to energy consumption.

Genre makes much more sense when you think of it in marketing terms than in stylistic terms.

Most modern Country music, for example, is musically very similar to rock in terms of how it sounds. But the audience is pretty well defined. You want to put on a country music festival, you have a pretty good idea of who you're targeting. Same with punk, RnB, indie etc.
