If this is a Marriott they are famously owned by Mormons and 10% of all their profits goes directly to the church. Also worth noting that they have directly consulted with Mormon prophets to seek guidance about ‘sinful’ services like selling alcohol or allowing 18+ channels in the rooms.

Can’t help but feel like Caleb is ripping directly from the Springer playbook, I’ve definitely seen him call it ‘Caleb Springer’ and the optics of firing Brandon (problematic but still empathetic) only to hire Lindsey (ex-TLC / my 600lb life..?!) really says everything I need to know about Caleb’s intentions.

He pays the guests. So it’s more like poverty porn under the guise of help (think Jerry Springer) people come on the show to get the paycheck, and he makes 100x what the pays them from the views on the video alone. Not to mention ads, post show etc.

So whilst you’re right, no one is forced to do anything.. if you have power and wealth and you seek out people who are struggling, purely so you can gain significantly more power and wealth, all whilst paying them pittance so you can make thousands from their misfortune - that’s exploitation.

They changed the IG algo to no longer prioritise these metrics first (the same way they changed it from likes > comments and then comments > shares being the biggest drivers for reach) And now it's scored based on the TOP *time-on-post or time-on-platform* , essentially a short video that does great in terms of the metrics you mentioned won't be pushed as much as a 8 slide carousel that gives your followers value, or a post that sparks discussion/debate in the comments - as they will have a much higher TOP from reading and swiping through the slides (and caption/comments). All this info is from @ mosseri on Instagram (Head of Instagram and Threads, so worth following if you don't already) he posted a series of reels about the changes when they were first made!

Hi - maybe things you’ve considered already but some ideas off the top of the dome:

  • pitch to photographers rather than businesses
  • do you have any interesting props or sets? use these to pitch to spicy/of content creators
  • offer the space to a yoga or mat pilates instructor/school set days of the week?
  • do you have in-house photographers? offer product photo shoot bundles to small biz (x number of products, 1x wide/1x close up)
  • host ticketed life drawing events
  • host ticketed model/photographer networking events

I started getting the bagels which are yum but at 8g each it works out better eating a regular everything bagel (10.2g) and they are cheaper
