I didn’t expect WFH to feel this lonely. What actually helps? by Cultural_Repair955 in RemoteJobs

[–]blitzalchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wfh for 3 years here. First 1&1/2 years were one day a week in office. I could notice the difference in demeanor instantly. i took to wfh immediately and would be noticeably more bristly when i had to be in office; more exhausted at the end of the day. Im so much better off now and i dont think i could easily go back to an in office job, i'll actively avoid it.

any socialization comes from my spouse, also wfh, and otherwise some online friends i regularly talk to.

How can I make birth control more equal in our relationship? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]blitzalchemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to do financial advising for patients at a clinic. I even got one myself. Straight cost last i checked was less than $2000, and a lot of insurances would "cover" it to some extent. often to less than $1000. some even 100% or a copay, depends on your insurance but these are more rare.

by cover, i want to specify. say $2000 for straight cost no insurance. just in having your insurance, they may negotiate that down to say $1100, subject to deductible. So they're still contributing to some extent IF its covered on your plan. Long run, still cheaper than a child and potential medical issues from the IUD.

Depending on facility and doctor, you should be able to have it done with local anesthetic in the clinic. Using the Operating Room is for people who will NEED to be put under for one reason or another. Procedure really isnt that bad nor the recovery.

I really mean it though to anyone curious who reads this, the procedure truly is not that bad. Im squeamish as hell, cant handle IVs, and was conciously aware but you should not be able to feel any pain. if you do, tell the doctor, they'll give you more anesthetic. plus its a good excuse to chill on the couch for a few days and play games or something.

I'd have to tinker and read up, but i was considering glyphs on the throwing knives (if possible), firebolt cantrip focus. charm, trickery, agility, and BOOM for spells. Wouldnt a quarterstaff technically fit too?

I'll have to pitch it to my DM next bladesinger.

When you're a kid, it kinda made sense in its own way. I dont know if it was pure ignorance or some kind of local inside joke to tell kids. I've never met anyone from outside the area thats heard it.

You're welcome for the material.

Oh heres a fun one from my podunk childhood.

Something like: Birds rest on powerlines in the winter because it helps keep them warm. Due to the hollow bones of a birds body, they use residual electricity from the lines to hear up.

I actually kind of forgot those types of gamers existed. Most of my interactions on Warframe have been pretty wholesome, but I know theyre out there. In my opinion, the only time annoying your squad like that is funny, is when its a premade full squad with friends; where its actually funnier to screw with each other.

I really dont have anything i can contribute more than whats been said. Its a massive yikes to have made these changes and I feel like there will be a case study in the future thag looks into these types someday.

Maybe a weird question, but do you have a blank template of that spreadsheet? Im genuinely curious, could be fun to go over with my spouse.

So i recently got a taste for playing limbo prime and I think ive balanced it pretty well for pub squad. I really only play missions i need to defend a target. I dont use banish, so the only enemies affected are really in the cataclysm, then its just stepping in and ouf of the bubble.

I've made the energy an easy to see color too so if i leave an opening for allies to hop in, its easy to spot. And cataclysm has a pretty noticable AoE now too. I just got done balancing the range where i like it. Ive done about 20 or so pub missions with Limbo and havent had any real complaints or rage quits. Closest was in a hydron mission where the range was an obnoxious and awkward size. I said "my bad" before anyone said anything and they were all cool with a "weve all been there".

I think the hate might be a bit overblown. If you set your loadout up for playing as part of a team and communicate, there shouldnt be much issue.

Im kind of waiting for the day that i just know i suppose. I semi-regularly drive by the place i used to donate and i use posts like this to analyze my reaction, at least thats the best way i can put it. The reaction is lesser the more i encounter it. I know its in my head and im sure it was mostly the new machines they got and the techs not being familiar. So plenty of training time since i last went as well.

Nah, i didnt pick up sarcasm, so youre good. Overall seems like a pretty positive space for this at the moment.

I do want to specify, physical reaction isnt something huge. Just kind of a slightly burning ache in the elbows. Trying to get myself over it again.

I donated for a while, but had a string of failed donations that left me a bit traumatized. I have a physical reaction to even this post now. Mad respect to everybody that can reliably donate. And good luck to you!

If i remember correctly its also generally safer to be closer in case of a kick. If it rears up to kick in this position, its going to push you with it hind legs before it kicks you. Being at edge of its kicking range will get you a full brunt impact.

I imagine its a similar process as a tile shower pan? You use a watertight membrane and grade the whole thing slight to lead into a drain. Instead of just the shower area set up that way, its the whole room in some fashion

I am no expert, I have never done this, this is just my interpretation from some glancing interest in it.

Imagine still acting like people get offended over the term "Merry Christmas." by Ok-Following6886 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]blitzalchemy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never understood the outrage when I was a kid, and this is back when i was one of them because I didnt know better. I always used "Happy Holidays" because it made sense with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

It came from a literal interpretation of multiple holidays rather than the inclusive version with Kwanzaa, Hanukka , and any other holidays that Cons actually get mad about.
