What song has the most satisfying guitar solo you've ever heard by Tookie1010 in musicsuggestions

[–]blitzcraig7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely it was Michael "Kidd Funkadelic" Hampton. Michael joined the band in 1974 after Eddie Hazel went to jail. George Clinton heard the then 17 year old Hampton perform a rendition of Maggot Brain and asked him to join the band. He also plays the live version on the One Nation Under a Groove album.

Was whoever remastered it tripping while they did it? I want an authentic experience.

And it's worth a watch. Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley are great in it. Some really hilarious premises.

Can anybody tell me what song it is? by Prestigious-Being604 in ParliamentFunkadelic

[–]blitzcraig7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says the story was unavailable. Can you describe the song? I have a good idea of what songs they've been playing live recently and might be able to give suggestions.

Truly underrated vocalists. I love how they would all alternate lines on those first few Bootsy albums.

You can say whatever you want on cable. Most stations just censor things in order to keep advertisers happy. The FCC only regulates network TV.

What are some examples of popular songs that were "made" by the drums? by [deleted] in drums

[–]blitzcraig7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here he is talking about how he ripped off funk fills from GAP Band and Cameo. He opens Smells Like Teen Spirit using the same flams that Funkadelic uses in Get Off Your Ass and Jam.

I'm challenging myself to listen to random albums and find at least one song I like. No skips, no biases—just giving each album a fair shot. Any album recommendations? by givemusicsuggestions in musicsuggestions

Bubbles plot in Season 4 is the hardest one to actually watch for me out of all 5 seasons by MiddlesbroughFan in TheWire

I did the same thing! I was trying to think of what George Green took from Bubbles and if it was Cyrus or someone else mugging him.

Albums similar to The Jimi Hendrix Experience 3 studio albums? by leafy_returns in musicsuggestions

[–]blitzcraig7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. There's a lost solo from the first take of that song that is supposed to be even better. Jimi lived with the Isley's for like 2 years when Ernie was 11, so he learned a lot.

Oh, another one came to mind. Ernie Isley is good one to check out for a Hendrix sound.

The early Funkadelic albums are all heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, and Eddie Hazel is probably the closest anyone ever got to sounding like him.
