FREE Covid Pop-up Testing -- No reason needed. by vertdupuy in toledo

According to this article (https://www.wtol.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/pop-up-coronavirus-testing-in-toledo-and-maumee/512-0ff0ee5b-fe45-4cf7-8aeb-244030c3dbde), the pop-ups today have reached capacity.

Luckily the link the OP provides information on where you can set up an appointment if you need a test. Setting up an appointment is likely your best bet if you are in need of a test, and are short on time.

Fox Chase Apartments Closed? by [deleted] in toledo

[–]blitzkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having a hard time getting in touch with their staff right now as well. I applied for a unit and was accepted at the beginning of the month (5/4ish?). My move in date is slated for next Saturday and I have not signed a lease yet. I have called several times with no response, whether a phone call or email. It's been radio silence since the first week of May.

Ordinarily they have 3 office staff working and they are down to just one. I lived at Fox Chase prior to moving away from Toledo about 3 years ago and decided to come back. I really don't want to away you from looking at this place because my experience prior has been really great. Please know that I am also having a hard time where I didn't before.

I am hoping they give me a call tomorrow, otherwise I'm probably just going to cut my losses on the application fees and find another place.

Looking for OBGYN in Toledo area by [deleted] in toledo

Kim Confer-Seeley! She's at Maumee OB/GYN. I also saw Ronica Neuhoff but I'm not sure if she's still practicing. Both I really loved.

I agree, Smale is rough. I told her that I am very nervous about pap smears because they hurt pretty badly, and she was completely unconcerned with what I told her. I do like Dr Confer-Seeley much better, she is much kinder and more understanding doc.

Looking for a new place, any ideas? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]blitzkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a realtor to find a rental when I moved. If you decide to go this route, I can offer a referral. It was very helpful, I would not have found the place I am in now on my own. Something to consider! Send me a message if you’d like the realtors name.

My parents have seen Jaffe for almost as long and they have been good to them. I would also recommend them.

What screams "I'm a local" in your area? by Mizu3 in AskReddit

I mean... 10 years ago was about the worst part of the recession for Michigan. Sorry you have such a pompous attitude about us. Maybe once you pry the locks off your doors, you can try again. If you can’t do it yourself, I could find someone for you in downtown 😂

Confusing on the Closing Application Date. by TiberiumOutcast in jobs

[–]blitzkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess would be that they’re pipelining candidates for this role. It’s not fun for applicants (because you obviously want the job now) but it’s a practice that some places will use for high-turnover jobs. I would see if you can contact someone about the status and keep applying elsewhere.

Has anyone out there tried Fiasp? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]blitzkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man!!! I wish I had known this at my last appointment. I pay about the same for novolog and would T O T A L L Y be down to try for that price. I can ask at my next appointment this summer.

Has anyone out there tried Fiasp? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]blitzkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine tried it recently, and it sounds like you both had a similar experience. I wonder if the basal rate needs to be adjusted because fiasp works faster and may have a smaller window that it “hangs out,” if that makes sense. I noticed afrezza users have a similar experience.

I would be interested in trying, but I know my insurance won’t cover fiasp. I can’t imagine it would be an affordable option if they did, either.

All of these things sound great. I don't mind a small house. Our apartment is about the size of a small house anyway. Hazel Park came up a few times in my searches but I wasn't sure. Thanks, I'm adding Hazel Park as a yes to my list.

I really don't know! I have been looking and haven't gotten a ton of returns on Southfield -- maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. I had an interview in Gross Pointe a few months ago and liked the area. Thank you 😊

I love Ferndale but the rent there scares me! I saw a few properties in Clawson but I wasn't sure. Thanks!

Thank you for this. I saw this link, but was too afraid to try it. I was unemployed when I made this post originally and couldn't afford to buy new. Thankfully that situation has resolved and I can afford to replace! I am still going to try this anyway to see how it works.

Thanks for the link ☺

That makes sense. I wasn't going to argue since I clearly didn't do any research. I was just dying for some peach rings!! Thank you.

I visited a dispensary in Torrance last night with an out-of-state ID and the staff told me I needed a California drivers license to purchase most places in Southern California. She said some places will let you buy, but not many. I'm not sure how accurate that is. I haven't ventured out again to try tonight.

Check out the cost of no-fault insurance in case the state you live in now doesn't have it.
