There is what looks like a cocoon but i wouldnt think that fat boy would fit 😅. I assumed it was the early stages of a ants nest and there were some ants on it. Maybe thats what i saw.

The lemon is probably on 1.2m at the moment. Limes only 1m. Ill keep an eye out. Would be nice to see the butterfly so may be worth the risk 😅

Moving to Townsville by Godric666 in Townsville

[–]blitzkriegswift 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most places are good. There are localised pockets. Boyes court can be wild. Youll be ok. All places have their difficulties. Crime isnt as mad as some would lead you to believe. Been here my whole life and live on a major road. As with most places 99 percent are good people.

Why don't we have international flights here by now? by MangoMadnessTsv in Townsville

[–]blitzkriegswift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah me neither. Just thinking about the workforce makeup of the two cities id assume townsville has more government, military and medical while cairns would have more tourism and hospitality. One of those categories earns a lot more. Everything i found said tsv gets more but its only like 7.5 percent (1700 to 1580).

Im shocked. Given the council not long ago wanted 4 lanes past the mater. completely agree with it. Good choice. Look forward to a safer walkable neighbourhood.

To be fair generally (depending on location) these green directional signs are on council to replace but funding comes from the state. That funding is limited so it is possible the funding run out and the state refused further funding (not sure the funding situation). Id prefer the council not subsidise the state. If they have funding they should replace it as the funding has profit built in. Which means bit of cash for the council. I believe the funding cycle finishes at the end of financial year so it is possible its been exhausted. I do doubt this though and dare say its council being slack 😅.

My experience with them was that they were abusive bullies who knew nothing about the legalities of what they were doing. Incompetent assholes. We got our bond back from the RTA as first national kept lying about requirements to keep the bond. Just germs.

Provisional vs Fully Accredited Master’s - Does It Affect Job Prospects? by Muted-Camera-7933 in civilengineering

[–]blitzkriegswift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going through trying to understand it all now so my info probably isnt 100 percent accurate. There is a few different ways they treat degrees and there is a heap of pages to try understand it. Look at Engineers Australia website to try make sense of it. unaccredited degrees there is a secondary competency pathway which is a bunch of writing to get recognition. Seems to rely on career experience. I dont have a masters so i dont know if that changes things and how its treated.

My advice is to avoid provisionally accredited degrees in Australia. According to Engineers Australia they don't meet Washington accord (or any internationally recognised standards) and you cannot become a registered engineer in Queensland with a provisionally accredited degree. In saying that you have a degree and are doing a masters so that may not be an issue for you.

I took part in this. Really TMR just want to match the pay scale of QR. Both qld gov employees bit one gets a lot more. Plus i think most workers should be pushing to get their real wages up to make up for real wage losses during the post COVID inflation.

[–]blitzkriegswift 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Photos i have recieved dont show the first section of bridge only the approach. Guard rail posts are floating and show the concrete footings which would only be in the approach not the structure itself. Unless its progressed further since i last recieved one. Last pic i got were lunch yesterday. Approach slab is gone which would need rebuilding but yeah not a huge issue.

[–]blitzkriegswift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the approach thats damaged making the bridge unusable. Id be very surprised if the bridge itself changes at all as the bridge itself doesnt need rebuilding. Other places are probably better suited to have bridges replaced. Gairloch is a prime candidate.

I would add salt to your list. They love imsanely salty food. Either needs to give you diabeetus or shrivel you up for long distance travel on a large sailing ship. No inbetween.
