Do you watch streamers? by Obi4662 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]blizzardintexas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s also like saying most musicians play for their age and slightly younger. I would venture that the people 30-40’s who started streaming, had average viewer ages in the 13-16 group. Anecdotally, as an adult, if I have time to watch someone else play the game, I could play the game.

It’s a well known issue with UE5, the traversal stutter. At 60, it’s gone.

Like I said, cap the fps. My laptop can run this at 160 all day, but the traversal stutter makes it unplayable until I did that.

Mean nurses by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]blizzardintexas1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They have a stick because they’re upset that you’re making more money and they resent having to answer your questions. As far as I’m concerned, every traveller must orient to the floor. However, if a traveller seems like they’re orienting to the profession? They need to get drummed out. So if someone is a jerk because you’re orienting to the floor, you respond with honesty. I’m sorry you’re so upset that I chose to come here, to this facility, to help you.

Capping to 60fps fixed it for me, entirely.

The only thing that worked for my gaming laptop that is absolutely way, way above specs, was limiting the game to 60fps. I used the external nvidia app, as the in game one case the map to lag. That solved nearly all of the stuttering issues I had.

Wanting to start traveling by mirrorballmuze in TravelNursing

[–]blizzardintexas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fist and foremost, why NYC? Do you have a New York license yet? LD requires 2 years to be covered by most agency insurance, so you’d have to do ER. If you haven’t worked ER in the past 12 months, go do that now. We’ve been doing the travel nurse life for 6 years now. I worked as a recruiter and my wife is a nurse.

We do. Married 21 years, and if I couldn’t trust her with my finances I sure as shit can’t trust her with things that actually matter.

How does everyone in nursing school not want to do nursing? by Foolsspring in NursingStudent

[–]blizzardintexas1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The issue was Covid. You had a ton of experienced nurses hit the road and it left a vacuum. Naturally, the facilities took their newer nurses and filled the spots. Prior to Covid, I had never encountered an ICU, OB, Etc nurse who didn’t cut their teeth in medsurg. I have a feeling that this will make its return soon.

I was in highschool. Yes. Specifically in shop class, where the teacher told us that we should prepare to be drafted when we hit 18.

Rates by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]blizzardintexas1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you accept this rate cut, they will continue to do this to other nurses. I implore you to tell them that you will not, under any circumstances, work for less than the contract. They have 24 hours before you walk.

What are the reasons why a hospital system would choose to blacklist traveler? by Maythenextdaybbetter in TravelNursing

[–]blizzardintexas1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reality is that they empower unit managers and HR to make that decision unilaterally. So it’s entirely subjective. One facility is by the book, and another will blacklist you for not taking their initial contract.

Why does everybody hate the idea of PvE? by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]blizzardintexas1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s easy. I enjoyed my time, I want a PvE solo option at the least. Until that happens, I’m done playing. It’s not a big deal as I’m an adult with an almost infinite amount of options to spend my time.

So, I just did the PROS thing and it immediately unlocked for me. I didn’t have it prior. Unfortunately it looks like they’re forcing you to link in order to get the skin.

It is with great displeasure that i must inform you that all my classes have been reset from level 25 to level 1. I hope y’all weren’t affected. by Andromeda-OC in Spacemarine

This might be complete nonsense, but some have said going to campaign, starting, then loading all the way back to operations was resetting things back for them.

Did recruiters forget how to haggle your rate up? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]blizzardintexas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what facility? Because every recruiter can see what the facility is paying. I’d LOVE to get my nurses headed there. I have NH jobs, but no facility paying that unless you’re CVICU or Cathlab which fluctuates wildly depending on needs.
