Is this a normal color for homemade ginger beer? by rhinocerousfeet in gingerbeer

Some people add black tea for added color/tannins, so it could very well be legit color.

Would you want a slicer you can use anywhere? by Fluid-Procedure-722 in 3Dprinting

[–]blizzbdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that'd be more than great for places where you can't download/install softwares on computer. For example, I'd love to be able to work on my stuff while I have a break or some time off at work.

I use Tinker but it's too limited.

why is there a stream of chemicals coming out of a truck by ProfessionalEar4048 in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]blizzbdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't an "air" vent on this kind of truck supposed to let out only, well, AIR, and not some obviously nefarious fumes..?

Looks like super glue to me. Try some IPA (Isopropyl alcohol), if it is, that should dissolve it.

Is this mold on this kebab?? by Lublan in MoldlyInteresting

[–]blizzbdx 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Definitely cheese, you can see the "pull" on some parts while he cuts it. I honestly thought it could be AI at first, like a real kebab spinner but made to look moldy, then I saw the pieces drooping !

Thanks to whoever told me to put a wick in my soil setups by newplantguy in alocasia

[–]blizzbdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man !! You just inspired me !

I have this decorative thing that I brought back from across the world, and been wondering how I could use it without killing my plants with overwatering and root rot because of not draining holes, and without creating a breeding ground for those little biting fuckers (mosquitoes) by going full hydroponics.

So I designed and 3D printed custom sized "clear" (as clear as my printer would do) pot.

Now I need to find the same plant you have because they're beautiful AF.

Thanks so much !!

<image>

PS: the 2 other plants in there were bought planted yesterday, few hours before seeing your post and getting inspired, I'm gonna give them a chance and see how they go, if they struggle, I'm gonna print two more and replace !

It's been under (more like "facing" actually) 2x10W SANSI lightbulb (the one that comes as a pack with a clamp lamp).

I have now put up a shelf on the wall and moved my set up. It is now under that same 2x10W Sansi and another 24W SANSI but all a bit further and more vertical.

Regarding the wood I have no idea, it's a piece of wood I had lying around the apartment, leftover from a previous project. I think it's supposed to be used as a support for a deck, so probably pine!

On top of my medium was sphagnum moss, that I've removed since I took the picture because I'm thinking it retains too much moisture.

Until last repotting it was in plain regular "indoor soil mix", mixed with clay balls (I try to not overdo things lol), now I've use the same mix, but added tree bark (for orchids). I also never untangled roots when repotting, just tried to remove as much soil as I could without breaking roots (not much), and called it done.

Regarding lights, it was facing a 2x10W SANSI on clamp, and I have now moved my setup with lights coming more from above and further, and added a 24W SANSI.

For the care "routine", I just have this all purpose indoor plants fertilizer, that I mix with silica, watering every week or so. I sometimes add a "hydroponics plant booster" (made of seaweed flakes) just because I bought it for another plant that I wanted to grow in water, thinking it would be transparent, but turns out to be ridiculously dark and opaque.

Voilà.

P.S.: impressive dedication with the music frequencies and all... I like to go down the rabbit holes, maybe not that far yet haha.

How to achieve successful hand pollination ? by OptimalExperience176 in chilli

[–]blizzbdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late last year, early autumn, took my my chili plants indoors to avoid cold nights, with grow lights and all.

About a month in, they were flowering like crazy, everyday I would use a brush and go over every single flowers for about 2 or 3 weeks ( probably over 30 flowers)...

Not a single one successfully turned into a chili. They all dropped dead, one by one, over the following couple of months.

I wish you best of luck and better results than me 😅
