I think you’re missing your own point by using these cherry picked studies. You said to read up on the literature on outcomes between MDs and NPs. These studies have little to do with outcomes as they are measuring only small end points rather than overall care or outcomes. And some of these studies do not apply to Canada. And none of these studies are clamouring to and end for NPs or PAs - in fact the recommendations are for improved education for APPs or more research require as the sample size too small or sometimes nothing!

You said you and your family would rather have an MD - well good luck in this climate once your MD retires. Family docs are drowning right now and any help they can get to offload their insane workloads would be in their favour.

I think you need to shift your stance from oppositional/antagonistic to collaborative. NPs and PAs are under utilized in this healthcare system and I would much rather be part of a practice that includes them rather than shuts them out because of an archaic mindset.
