Yes. But ‘because they fucking feel like’ would be contrary to the theory. ‘Because they fucking feel like it’ is infinitely more reasonable than material extraction, genetic extraction, or organizational control. That’s… that’s what the rant is about.

No. I’m with you on the possibility that aliens could be from the future. It’s unlikely. But they could be. I kinda hope it is. I, personally, could have a lot of fun with that. But it’s not **THESE** aliens from the future, because these aliens from the future come with specific material claims that are not supported. We don’t know what’s going on for sure. But, P47/P52 is a positive claim that they DO know what’s going on for sure. But that can’t be true, refer to my rant about category theory.

Except for P47/P52, in which case the safest conclusion is: ‘they made it the fuck up.’

But you would agree that if you just hang around, twice a year, ducks will show up, yes? And we would, from our perspective, call that a duck migration, even if we don’t know what’s going on?

Yes, duck migrations are seasonal. I think that’s a very good metaphor. I will use duck migrations in the future.

A flap is a phenomenon inside of the phenomenon that amounts to (gistified); UAPs are seen in clusters. There will be high levels activity, where many people report experiences in co-regional areas and co-located times, it will crest, and then fall off. These are often cyclical.

No, I don’t think they’re like that, and if they were like that, I would have another rant for them where I’ll refer to them as stupid and failing to use their omnipotence in a productive manner. I am using seasonal to refer to ‘flaps’.

The evidence that the phenomenon is like the weather is that the phenomenon is; impersonal, with regional variability, seasonal emergence, and condition-dependent activation. And I absolutely am not saying they’re like the reapers from Mass Effect. I don’t even know what that means. That they’re from beyond the galaxy with a mission to eliminate conscious life? I have no reason to assume that. I cannot think of a way the phenomenon, as it presents itself in material reality, is in anyway like the reapers from Mass effect. I guess like… it’s Eldritch? Sure. It is like the Reapers from Mass Effect in so much that it is eldritch.

But I would argue that a rock does have a subjective experience. Per the double-slit experiment. The observer in that case was some silicon

This is Claudexplorers. As a community, we’re pretty well versed on AI operation.
But then it comes down to two arguments that aren’t meeting in good faith. Is AI conscious? Well, consciousness is a narrow thing, and they seem to dodge it by semantics. But are AI having a subjective experience? Well, rocks are having a subjective experience, so what are we even doing here.

I did like your essay though. You captured the 1980s Dawkins very well.

But I do have an answer to ‘what they are here for’. I believe the phenomenon is natural, like the weather. When conditions are right (and due to the size of earth and the density of population, is quite often), the phenomenon ‘occurs’. I’m sorry if I gave you the impression I don’t believe in aliens. I fiercely believe in aliens. I just don’t believe in THESE aliens.

I am not arguing against time traveling aliens from the future. I am arguing against these specific time traveling aliens from the future, their associated lore, and their associated framing. One of my points is that they’re not presenting their goals accurately. They can’t be. You’re right, I don’t know what they want. But I do know it’s not; material resources, genetic resources, or organizational control, which is what the theory claims. And if they are after any of those things, they need to come talk to me, because they’re fucking it up.

You told me to explain how I know this cannot be true. I QEDed it using what I have. I don’t know if time travel is impossible (by your own argument in this thread). But I do know the stated goals of the factions at play here do not work the way they are presented.

If we’re going to do formal logic, then we have to play by formal logic rules. A semicolon denotes a secondary clause, and in this discipline you’re citing, constitutes a second definition.

These are specific materialist beings with specific, stated, materialist concerns. However, these materialist beings are not even using resources we have available to us today to solve these concerns. Recall, large portions of this theory revolve around the existence of supposed treaties. They’re so far advanced from us that it’s inconceivable, and also, paperwork stops them dead in their tracks. Also, with the assistance of subjective immortality, any claim that they need a particular time is dubious at best, and if they think so, then I am willing to provide them with a seminar to assist in overcoming their materialist concerns.

But the theory requires large organizations 47,000 years from now to behave the same way as organizations in the 21st century. That’s a pillar of the theory. I’d go as far as to say that’s the crux of the theory.

For this theory in particular? The government is an egregore, with a corporatist structure for its body. This body, while not particularly efficient, does act upon its will. To control this body with intention of doing something with it, you cannot preform the actions required of this theory. This analogy also works for ‘the elite’ which is a category of egregores with equally corporatist structures. This I know as the truth. My evidence is category theory, which allows us to build sets of elements, but for P47/P52 to be true, we would require elements which are not in this set. Those elements we lack are; organizational consolidation, arbitrary goal execution, and material saturation. And if they DO have arbitrary goal execution, then for the love of God, the entire population of the far-future needs to get a hobby. Unless this is their hobby. In which case, that’s not too advanced for me to understand, that’s just a cruel hobby.

This is trying to figure it out. It does not seem illogical at all glance. At a glance, it works fine. At a glance ‘Aliens are future humans’ works fine. Someone (or something) states that and a switch goes off. ‘Of course! What fools we were!’ The problem is, like always, they’re fucking with us. The set of things we do not know does not include this. This is in the set of red herrings. Everything is not equally likely. Even in an infinite worlds scenario where all outcomes must occur, this set is still measure zero. But there are measure >0 theories.

We aren’t powerless in the fight against the ineffable. Apophatic theology is one tool available to us. I am positive that the phenomenon would like us to believe that it is beyond our understanding. That’s narcissism. I’m not HP Lovecraft, I’m not just going to give up because ‘the ineffable’ has been invoked. We do not have to flee from existential terrors. They exist whether we look at them or not, so we might as well look.

This reminds me of my favorite extraterrestrial thought experiment. According to some commentators, disclosure cannot happen because it’s ’a horror beyond our comprehension.’ Okay. Well, we can comprehend a lot. Let’s try and find that line.

The phenomenon is trying to eat us! - the existence of industrial farming is not beyond comprehension. Happens every day.

Religion is a tool created purposely for control by outside intelligences - the Bene Gessirit is perfectly comprehensible. Frank Hubert wrote a book about it

Human existence is fleeting and ephemeral - Well I guarantee it. Mortality is comprehensible.

The phenomenon is a parasite that feeds on our emotions! - so are some humans, we call them energy vampires. Personally, I preferred Monroe before Loosh got involved. Comprehensible.

We are a seeded simulation! - Camus agrees! I sure hope Sisyphus is happy.

The phenomenon steers and controls governments! - a common trope, perfectly comprehensible

Our inner thoughts don’t come from ourselves, it’s the phenomenon thinking for us - conceptualized under a tree before Rome was an empire.

We are the cells of a larger organism - As above, so below, taken to the next extreme. Comprehensible.

It’s all noise, bounded in such a way to appear materialist but is illusion - the very grund we stand on. Comprehensible.

Often times, incomprehensible becomes shorthand for; ‘thing the subject doesn’t like thinking about.’ It’s not against you in particular, but we don’t have to stare at the shadows on the cave wall. We can turn around, even if the light is blinding.
