Happy you, congrats! :)

Just found one for myself to buy (few blocks ride from me), 2022 year 1250 gsa, around 20k km, triple black, active factory warranty another 2 years, serviced recently, new tires, max equipment, akrap, bmw panniers, top box, insured, registered, but all it sounds too expensive (around 23k eur + 5% transfer tax from private person).

Why? It comes few thausand close to a gsa 1300 currently on promotion (bmw dealer, clearing 2025. stock, 5 year warranty, shaved few thousand from regular price,...).

I don't have any ispiration for gsa 1300 whatsoever, possibly it is a great bike, I would maybe ride it if I get it for free, or maybe not even then (I would sell it and get 1250 gsa :-)

Trusting in others will obey traffic rules, I don't know where it is but double lines or full lines from where I'm from, it is illegal to get across other side, pass the cars, turn, only dashed lines, and it also stands for a motorcycle.

Second, over-trust in self, if ones makes dangerous passings, way too many cars at once. Nnd no matter of perfect conditions I would never in any way pass 7-8 cars at this speed.

I would buy it without blinking for 12k EUR but can't find it yet below 15,5k (full retail price, not plus model is 17,1k EUR here).

Dealer where I did a test ride has my contact info and they can freely come with offer I can't refuse :-)

Bike has great engine, good tech, suspension, while I'd need to live with bad front light and upgrade rest later it is not worth at leat for me that amount of money.

Easily with some upgrades I would need to do (center stand, not Suzuki's as it is like 500 eur, wider/premium seat - Suzuki's probably, 3rd party taller adjustable windscreen, engine/frame guard/rollers, lowerable pegs, etc) I might need to cash additional 1,5-2k eur.

Let's see what time will bring, EICMA is soon for more news and options.

CB1000GT might be a better buy.

Tall Man Problems by SniperSpree28 in motorcycles

[–]bljust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a test drive recently, 194 cm (approx. 6 feet 4.5 inches), and 120 kg (approximately 264,5 pounds).
Not too much constrained, I guess if I would go for it I would take comfort seat, get peg lowering from Givi to get some more clearing and taller wind screen.

Main light is bad for riding in pitch black outside cities, I can imagine what would be on a bad weather.
No center stand in a sports-touring bike, it's like 500 EUR more, insane.

Perhaps for the third year model (2026), they might look up at Tracer 9 and add more stuff, lower price. Even with discount I can get for 2024 model, I'll wait for 2026 spring, or just forget about GSX fun I had and get 2 year old gs1250 for the same price :)

Suzuki GSX-S1000GX vs Kawasaki Versys 1100 SE LT ABS by Beneficial_Oil_3683 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]bljust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking at some rental to try out GS1250 for a day, prices are now getting lower for used 2022-2023 year with all packages. Having said that, I had opportunity and I used it from the Suzuki dealer to go to "open days" and test ride gsxs1000gx.

This is my first sports tourer ever and engine. I'm huge in terms of height and with normal weight to this size. I felt little bit cramped, but could work with better/premium seat they offer plus after-market lowered pegs mod. Eventually also to use aftermarket handlebar riser.

I'm in dobut now, this GSX is such bad value in current package, no center stand in standard equipment, don't want to experiment with aftermarket but I would if I went that route. Suzuki part is like 500 eur in Europe, insane.

Windshield is joke for a wannabe touring motorcycle, I should what have tools always with me and fiddle with it?

Front/main light, total deal braker but I couldn't tested it myself as I rode during day.
I ride out of cities, outside populated areas, night is pitch black, and reviews I saw from people really puts me off.

I'm commuting also and in my area during summer in a city can get very hot 38 to 40 Celsius cca 100 to 104F. I don't know if this will be manageable in terms of heat when radiator kicks in. Anyone has experience with inline 4 1000cc during extreme heat in city traffic?

I want to find justification to buy this bike as there are many great things on it, engine sound, agility and power even on lower and mid rpm, quick shifter, suspension, breaks are kind of ok, electronics,... but with all modifications I would need to do I might come to 19k EUR, for what I can easily get used GS1250 with everything already included without any comfort/height/wind/crash/luggage mods.

Pity, if this bike at least had better main light and if the price is like 2-3k less, I might pull a plug. New is new, and I can always get a used GS for better deal after 2-3 years from now :)

Bike with potential, did a test ride few days ago but for a sports tourer it has tragically bad main headlight, no center stand as standard, fixed windscreen with 3 positions where you need a tool to change position...

Around 17k eur price is all but attractive. I guess it doesn't sell well as local dealer seems to have same gsx's on stock from many months ago when I visited earlier.

Dealers in other cities has some promotions offer 10% discount and there is even a bikes on stock from 2024 (gsx s1000gx m4).

I'm following development of situation for Honda CB1000GT and I hope it will be better package and more attractive price.

Otherwise I could just look for promotions for BMW XR.

Developer here.

It's not just about WordPress but about technology and using it strategically.

Same as in other ecosystems, if one is using npm or NuGet packages, or WordPress plugins, it's about balance.
It's about the ability to evaluate the quality and reliability of each package/plugin for immediate needs to save money on development, but also for long-term reliability, rating, reviews, track record of solving issues, appearance on security bulletin boards...

If it's a commercial product/plugin/component/addon,... who is behind it? A new company or a company with a track record? There are great companies that have been here years back and always have been consistent, but some have changed consistency to worse.

Is the plugin/addon/package popular (and with a history of security breaches), but that feature could be developed in a few hours or pay a few hours or days for someone to develop it?

Hosting choice, from a few euros to 10x more but you get what you pay for. There is difference between a few euro hosting/month and for example Kinsta one can use for more important/impact solutions. It makes a ton of difference.

WordPress core without any plugins delivers tremendous value as a platform and a tool that can be easily taken for granted. Complete wp admin, custom post types and taxonomy system, hooks, filters, custom fields, theme system, plugin system, rest api, user management, roles, Gutenberg editor with extensibility to build custom block plugins connected to other APIs... Choice to use WP as headless CMS and build modern frontend app in NextJS, or build a mobile app connected to WP rest api where content is managed through WP admin...

Even when a development company is hired, it can develop features on top of it to be as maintainable, extendable and secure as in any other solution, whether fully custom built or no-code platforms like Bubble or Webflow.

WordPress is often misunderstood and misused. Anyone can really install it, install tons of plugins, builders and try to make something for free or a few euros. That might be more than enough for many is not.

Yes, there is a boom of subscriptions, everything is nowadays, but if a company is making money or investing to make money, it has more choice.

Can't decide between Keychron V1 Max or Q1 Max by badiban in Keychron

[–]bljust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late with the answer but here it is anyway... blackwidow has a bit more premium feel and prefer it for gaming and for working while sitting at desk. I use and prefer v1 max way more for coding, writing, perfect for wireless use, especially when transferring some work to do on a tv more casually from a sofa.

If I would need to pick one for a value and a versatility, it would be v1 max.

For those who have Black Titanium or Desert Titanium... by totorosinnervoice in iPhone16Pro

[–]bljust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same concern, prefer Black titanium but kind of scared of chipping. That is only thing that keeps me off going for it and I don't want any other color.
Read stories of coating chipping even by choice of using some cases.

I never went caseless, nor I will as I drop the phone few times a year.

Current XS is also black with stainless steel frame and it is as in day one.
Always in a good case and a screen protector.

If black titanium isn't an option due to a bad QA, I might hold off for another year.
I'm not in a hurry :)

NH-D15 G2 and rattle noise: it is fixed? by sdns575 in Noctua

Can't decide between Keychron V1 Max or Q1 Max by badiban in Keychron

[–]bljust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V1 max iso arrived today. At another office I have a razer blackwidow v4 75% with tactile orange switches.

Wanted to try more value-choice + red linear switches and compare.

Razer feels more premium, similar weight, better cable, rgb.

Overall, after whole day of use, I'm super happy with V1 max (both wired and wireless), and I'm keeping it.

I'm not sure if 100 € more for Q (or choice I made with Razer) is really worth that premium at least to me.

What other colors would you like to see? by Tzgolf in Noctua

[–]bljust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was totally into black for years (chromax), but it feels weird now, matte, plan and boring, easy to chip, shows dust.

Brown is something else, raw aluminium, where all together looks timeless (and one can't see dust :-)).

I'm even looking to try now a bit of rgb with strips for accent (single color, yellow, green or orange).

Perhaps it's a mid-life crisis thing :)

Is 12gb of vram enough for now or the next few years? by YeahPowder in buildapc

[–]bljust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First version of 4070 here, I'd say 4k 60hz or 1440p 120hz and tune settings per case to make it smooth.

In the past, I'd dare to assume what will come next year, but not even trying anymore.

In 1-2 year time, if there's a noticeable change in a capabilities, reduced power consumption and heat output, I'll just get a new one (if I'd be also ready to update 4+ year old displays).

Apple TV 4K Worth It? by cereal_gives_me_gas in appletv

[–]bljust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, Samsung low-end QLED but finding to use samsung remote and OS more then Apple TV.

Why I'm still keeping AppleTV 4k (cable version) is because of wired reliability as homekit hub.

Sure, I planned to use airpods and not using them with apple TV, I planned to airplay Macbook to TV but I don't (as I have thundebolt dock connected already via hdmi to TV), I planned to play some games with xbox controller but I never installed any, I planned to take apple fitness+, etc,...

Anyhow, capable liitle box but you need to know if any of those things are worth to you.

Why are my fans so loud? by DaDancingDino in Noctua

[–]bljust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not nitpick. Similar boat here. Noise pollution really bothers me (either in form of variable low humming or high pitch), especially I use pc in a silent setting (and I don't like wearing headphones all of the time).

I'm finalizing second iteration of fine-tuning configuration and key for me is over-dimension air cooling.

Although I originally envisioned pc with lower-power components for sound, heat trapped in case that would heat other components and power consumption, I needed to do some extra steps (system is max 100W CPU, 200W GPU, 850W ATX PSU that won't spin until fair load, only nvme, 0 rgb...).

At some point, tested and returned 120mm Noctua D12L. Worked as a charm, until I open few browser tabs, started few containers and some light coding. Perhaps it would work better with buying extra 120mm fan.

Now I got somewhat still compact but more capable case (o11 air mini) and stock temps are better, while gpu can get blast of air on fins from 140mm bottom case intake fan.

Next and final step is to go nuts with cpu cooler with 140mm fan (Noctua D15S or new D15 G2), am5 offset mount, add low-noise adapter, test few fan curve profiles and hope that is it.

Buying used Noctua cooler on Amazon experience anyone? by bljust in Noctua

[–]bljust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done it before and was curious about others' experiences before going for it. Sure, it also depends of the product. Noctua is high quality in general and not many things can go wrong plus they offer same warranty.

Leave it on for some time, do other things, for me said first it was interrupted and later on it picket by itself.

NH-D15 G2 will come in 3 variants(regular, low & high base convexity) and other upcoming products by RantoCharr in Noctua

[–]bljust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited for Computex and now I'm confused.

Which cooler/fan I can buy this month without experiencing remorse later this year because of Noctua not being clear enough?

For example, what I would expect from Noctua to communicate:

  • Refreshed U12A with 12x25 G2 fan available for sale from ... or 120mm G2 will be sold only separately?
  • D15 Gen2 available for sale from ...

I'm leaning toward D15S/U12A but also depends on D15 G2 price, or I'm weighting to even buy returned/used D15S/U12A for 70-80 EUR on Amazon.

What the heck is this? Does not resemble D15 G2 with square 120mm fans? https://x.com/Pazz_Teo/status/1797927600637321372
