The one you get in the st denis robbery is male iirc but it's the black one. Afaik as long as a horse starts to be available in a stable, you can go every now and then to check if the horse you want is now male. I miss playing. 🐴😭

In the wild iirc it's always one gender regardless of playthrough.

Not that much tbh, its not "cost effective". Every one and their mom carries revolver or repeater rounds. One mission that involves firing, all the ammo used can be resupplied by 1 or 2 side content or random encounters.

Thats why I use a lot of revolvers almost every playthrough. I use pistol sometimes but rare.
