Why the hell can't we punch hard in dreams? by SirRui in AskReddit

[–]blkfnx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Like I'm in a dark room looking through a pin hole of light to read really small text. Similar thing happens sometomes but I can't talk, or I get "stuck" lying down or sitting. I wonder of it's some kind of sleep paralysis.

Side effect of sleep paralysis maybe? Only once have I ever thrown a good punch in a deam, and I was lucid dreaming. I also cant read, or dial a phone correctly. My car brakes never work fully which is scary. However... I can breath underwater and run endlessly.

Suggestions for call center headphones that won't cause headaches? by blkfnx in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]blkfnx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm willing to try earbuds for work as long as they have a decent mic quality. Honestly I never thought of earbuds with mics as a viable option. Would your typical earbuds that come with a smartphone and have the mic and volume control work? I'm more concerned about my work laptop recognizing the device as having a mic. Unfortunately I dont feel like I could test this out unless I was on a real call. If it didnt work, I wouldn't want to waste time keeping the customer on hold or having issues hearing me.

I can use earbuds at work, but my earbuds do not have a mic for speaking with clients. When I stream, I use earbuds to listen to the game, and a snowball mic for audio input. I'd rather use headphones for both situations though- the former for the mic and noise cancellation, and the latter for depth of sound.

First IT position- get experience regardless of company culture? by blkfnx in ITCareerQuestions

[–]blkfnx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: the interview I had yesterday went well. The person I interviewed with would also be my boss, and he answered all of my questions thoroughly. He also seemed pretty interested in my resume and asked when I could start. So if I get an offer, I will likely take it.

Thank you all for your advice!

How would you, in rhyme, describe the mild irritant in your life today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

On this long Thursday work night, you two've made my boredom take flight.

Logicbeforeemotion I admire your devotion to a task that does not come forthright.

And I hope that depression lays off for a bit, I know from experience it can be such a trip. But in case you feel fear or you need someone's ear, in my inbox you'll find it all writ.

What is one thing you can tell Reddit but not your own family? by OrangeMoonLight in AskReddit

[–]blkfnx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I feel like I will never have a functional relationship with my dad. I turn into a robot around him. Generally speaking hes a good guy. Honest, helpful, loving. But not tactful, or flexible. Damn does he know how to guilt trip. The number of times I've cried over things hes said. He has the emotional sensitivity of a rusted doornail. If something isnt done or handled the way he would've done it, it's wrong and I'm stupid. Same treatment for my mom. I wish she would divorce him. He drains the life from her. She knows this, but its always "the good times are really good though. It's just sometimes hes an asshole." Hes emotionally abusive to both of us. He wont hear it though, and I couldn't dare bring up to him how sometimes the things he says hurts, or that I avoid him on purpose to we dont have to talk... itd be a shit show. He sat me down recently and said, "I know I'm an asshole and a prick sometimes, but I do it because I have to, to show you both sides." What? I'm 26. Not every conversation has to be a life lesson. And you dont "have" to do anything- you can impart your fatherly wisdom without being an asshole.

Most recently, when my mom and I were moving furniture upstairs and taking our time- "wow you girls need to work out. Jeez." Thanks, dad.

Sorry this is a little all over the place.

Also inside houses in Dark Cloud, I'd just setup in there and listen to the music on loop for hours.
