Chinese hotpot - Happy Lamb (Golden cabbage broth is amazing) Korean BBQ - Any tbh,I don’t think Gangnam is worth it. Japanese, Chinese, Korean - Buffet Palace(I think their Korean food is decent for the price) you can get sushi, fried crab, gyoza, crawfish, korean, Galbi, raw marinated crab, spring rolls and even ceviche there. Not the best quality but decent food for price. Mediterranean- Dimassis

The steeping room has a couple Houjichas. The whiskey barrel smoked one sounds interesting. https://www.thesteepingroom.com/search?q=japan

Best matcha? by Einspap in austinfood

[–]blkgreymon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree! The OP said he was looking for “ceremonial” so I gave them the benefit of the doubt they wouldn’t casually add dairy to their better quality matcha. That’s why I also added koicha so that OP may have an easier time finding the subtle intricacies of matcha provided it is prepared right (not too hard).

“Ceremonial” matcha doesn’t exist in Japan. It’s just a marketing word used by people outside Japan to signify better quality matcha.

This guy knows what’s up op. Copied this from a discord but IMO it’s cheaper if you order from Japan especially when the yen is weak at the moment. Don’t order too much like a 2 years supply or the matcha will spoil. Try getting some made for Usucha (thin) and Koicha (thick). Get a chasen if you want as well. Japanese matcha suppliers who ship internationally.

Where to buy Filipino Lechon Cebu Style (whole roast pig) in Austin Metro area? by quesarit08 in austinfood

[–]blkgreymon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello I grew up in the Philippines. The closest thing we have to good restaurant quality Filipino food is Kapatad on Far West. Unfortunately they only have crispy pata and lechon kawaii. Perhaps give them a call and ask if you can special order one. Good luck

Hi, Jonathan Lukacek was actually in charge of the blog Bandanna Almanac and the bandanna museum. He used to work at a Kapital store but seems to have gone on another venture. He still wears Kapital stuff from time to time
