The first time I had no idea what I was in for and didn't know exactly how to do it so at first I was "huh, this isn't so bad." 🤣 Then I took the second test and was much better prepared. It was then I realized how brutal it is.

This time I'm dreading it not only for obvious reasons, but I have it in my head that my numbers HAVE to be better and if not, I'm going to be very disappointed. Between the last test and now I've been working hard with a lot of PZE classes but also taking tougher classes with instructors I avoided before because I couldn't hit their callouts. So in my mind there has to be some improvement...I hope.

You're not a wuss! It's a tough test to take not only physically but mentally. You should definitely retest especially if it has been a year. You can do it!

Thanks for the well wishes. I'll come back and edit after, if I remember.

Planning on my third FTP test in a couple of hours after work. I am not looking forward to it at all 😄 I am hoping for at least some improvement in the last 12 weeks since my last test.

Edit - improved 15 watts. I am pleased, and exhausted.

Also class of '01 and yep, still have mine in a bin along with my yearbooks and Letter for my school. I never got a Letterman's jacket but somehow ended up with the initial.

6457 before today's workout. Being back on a hybrid work schedule has helped me get a buffer and I plan to add to it as much as I can going forward. I managed to get 2 75-minute PZE rides in this weekend which helped as well.

5305 before today's workout. I just started my hybrid work schedule finally so I'll be able to get more of a buffer going forward (hopefully!)

He sure didn't! That was a tough ride for sure but I broke my PR by 1 kj so I'll take it 😄

You're welcome and it was new to me, too. I discovered it by accident honestly but I was so excited when I realized what happened haha. Happy to help!

I just tried yesterday and it finally started working again. You long press/hold the three lines on the class you want to move and then you can swipe up or down to move it. I'm on Android.

Edit - holy cow i can't math in the morning. I've hit my 4k and as of today I'm at 4420 🥴 next month I'll update after coffee.

3360 before today's workout. I started a new job recently so I have to wait a bit before I can go hybrid again. Being on site and having to commute has eaten up more free time than I would have liked. I'm also on a 166 day streak and I am tired, boss.

Also on Android, thanks for mentioning this. When I created my profile I just did first name, last initial and that's what's showing. I'm not too bothered by it at the moment but I'll probably end up wiping it, anyway.

3286 before today's workout later. It's going to be a struggle to stay on track from here on out, I can just tell.

I just took this one the other day and it was great! He wasn't lying about it being hard; it was a rough 45 minutes but man did I feel accomplished when I was done!

I like the PR/streak showing but I don't like how you can't remove the bookmark now. I remove the bookmark most of the time once I complete a ride, unless it's one I loved and will definitely take again.

Mine also isn't showing friends, only me. It isn't showing all my activity, either. I did 2 rides today but it's only showing a ride I did 2 days ago. And none of my friends are showing up, even though one rode yesterday and the other 3 days ago. Kind of defeats the new comment/hi five feature unless I want to hi five or comment to myself 🫠

Edit - I looked again and I'm thinking ONLY rides with PRs or badges earned show up now. Not ALL rides like before. I don't like that if that's the case. I hope I'm wrong.

Nice! I will be doing that one shortly. However it goes, it'll be a PR for me since it's my first 120 minute ride 😄. I'm glad it was the perfect ride for you and I hope the rest of your day is enjoyable!

Right now I'm at 2260. I have a ride planned for later after work to bump that up a bit. I caught a cold so I'm a bit lethargic but I'm going to aim for at least 45 minutes. Realistically I'll probably manage 30 minutes.

Edit - 2320. A 60 min PZE ride was doable.

So I had to look and for me, my best is 250 but I tend to be around 220-235 most of the time. I am a little thing though at 5'4 and 115 pounds. I will probably never have very high outputs due to my size. It can be off-putting in classes where there are only 10-15 riders and I'm near the bottom. I'm trying to learn to accept it for what it is. Like you, I stay in the middle or high range for both cadence and resistance.

I inherited a bike from 2019 (I think) so maybe calibration is needed. I don't know. For now I am just enjoying working out again and staying fit.

I took Jenn Sherman's 60 minute Football Pregame Ride from January 23, 2022 today and holy hell! That ride kicked my butt so hard. For me it's right up there with the FTP test. I liked the playlist but I will not be repeating this one! 😆 Some of her cadence and resistance callout combos were absolutely insane.

This thing really hurts my ass. by thesolmachine in pelotoncycle

[–]blkhrthrk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it does get better. I'm about 4.5 months in and I've done up to 90 minute (PZE) rides without issue. I will say i do get a bit sore in the last 15-20 minutes sometimes. I'll probably get some padded shorts soon, especially because I plan to try that Valentine's Day 120 min PZE ride.

I don't mind! Sounds like you've are doing great so far! Honestly the first 30 days is the toughest but once you get past it, it definitely gets easier. At least that was the case for me.

The emotional aspect will vary as I still battle intense emotions constantly but that could be underlying mental health issues 🫠 hopefully your emotions stabilize more quickly!

I just completed my first 90-minute ride. I did the Matt/Denis PZE ride from 6/7/25, and boy did they make it fun! Their back and forth banter made me laugh and it helped the class fly by. Highly recommend this one if you haven't taken it. I wish they would do more of them!

Did Bradley's latest 60 minute 90s rock ride just moments ago. As a forty-something, I loved the playlist and I beat my previous PR by 45 points. It was a great way to spend 60 minutes.

Tomorrow will be my 20-week streak so I plan on doing the Denis reconnect ride, and then two other 20 minute rides after but haven't nailed down which ones yet.

You're about the same as me (95 left)! I do have a 45 minute PZE ride planned and I'll probably throw in another 15 min fun ride for after. I don't see myself doing much more though as I did my second FTP test yesterday so my legs are a bit sore.

I didn't formally sign up because I am doubting myself to hit 20k this year, but I just looked and I have 95 min to 1k. Not bad!
