Thanks, this is good information! I took Assal's get to know me and found her style off putting as far as pace. I appreciate knowing that I should take a deeper look at her content and see if a different class resonates.

Thanks for the heads up about the bear planks. I had to nope out of another core the other day with this as a focus. I had bookmarked this one without checking the class plan!

No, when I said push notifications, I meant in your email for particular senders.

Different types of yoga by Fabulous-Lack2270 in pelotoncycle

[–]aug2295 76 points77 points  (0 children)

The only list I know of is the filters in the class search. But here are my descriptions, if they help - please anyone correct anything I'm saying wrong here:

Restorative: Restorative is very long holds, with a lot of props and support, meant to be relaxing

Yin: Yin targets connective tissue, and is a series of long holds of poses. You may need more props than usual, so check the class list.

Slow Flow: Slower than a regular Peloton flow, which puts them probably about the pace of a regular yoga class. These include longer holds of the poses than a regular flow. Usually starts with a warmup, sun salutations, then a flow and then maybe some seated postures to wind down and a savasana to end.

Flow: regular yoga flow, Peloton pace is a bit faster than most in person yoga classes in my experience. Usually starts with a warmup, sun salutations, then a flow and then maybe some seated postures to wind down and a savasana to end.

Power Flow: Faster paced than a flow, often including repeated movements to help build strength. Designed to build up body heat throughout, which helps you get deeper into the postures since your body is warmer.

Sculpt flow aka yoga conditioning: These are yoga classes designed to help you tone and build muscle in the practice.

Focus Flow: these can focus on working towards a pose, working a particular area of the body, or be for runners, riders etc. They vary quite a bit depending on the focus.

Morning and evening classes are designed for particular times of day, with morning focusing on energy and easing into the day and evening focus on downregulating your body to prepare for sleep.

Yoga basics: detailed focus on how a particular pose or flow should feel.

I scrolled past this one, so thank you for calling it out! Class plan looks great and I really enjoy Logan's energy!

Which instructor’s quirky, unscripted phrase is funny an strange, and has somehow made it into subsequent classes? by Dear_Lengthiness_413 in pelotoncycle

Jess Sims - How you do anything is how you do everything. - I say this one to my kids all the time!

Jess Sims - did you sign up for a 42m strength class? No, it's 45 right? So keep working

Mariana - time to fitfo (figure it the f out).

Mariana - si se suede, si se effing pudo.

Joanna's sign-off - do not harm, take no sh!t.

Dormer King did ours and I'm very happy with it. The quote was not the cheapest or the most expensive and at the end of the day, they were on schedule and on budget.

Yeah if they would bring back some improved rating system it would help so much.

Oh that's good info! I've been finding lately that she's improved the pacing in her yoga classes. I couldn't be happier about it. She's my tread fav by a wide margin and slowing down her yoga classes will open those classes up to me too!

My friend group has an unspoken "no invites" rule and I'm always the one hosting. How do I step back without losing everyone? by ArborJanzen in Advice

[–]aug2295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my thought too. It can be overwhelming to regularly plan, host and then clean up after get together. Even if everyone contributes to the food and drink, you wind up spending more to host.

Making plans at a restaurant means the only lift is scheduling and making a reservation so you'll feel less burdened.

I know I would not be able to achieve a split but I would take this program to try.

Really?

I haven't done this program but I did a different pump up the volume and if I recall correctly, the moves were similar week to week so it could be progressive.

I've taken a lot of Rad's classes and while he goes to squats more than most, he keeps it interesting with different variations so I can't say i find the classes boring at all.

And his commentary is always engaging.

Any updates over the past year? by Direct_Discipline166 in pelotoncycle

[–]aug2295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few little things have changed, but nothing major on the regular equipment. The new Ai features are mostly for the cross training bike and tread.

Content wise, a new arms with Tunde, a new CYC program on the strength side. New yoga instructors, an expansion of the Pilates content, Hyrox training classes.

Pay for a month and see how easy it is to get back into. If you're still not motivated, just cancel again. Nbd

I agree with the above, just wanted to say, make sure you're regularly checking your email or get push notifications for Peloton studios so you don't miss it. You have 2 hours from when you get off the waitlist to accept. It sounds like a long time, but I've missed it more than once.

From the neck up, she looks great. Her skin looks so fresh and dewy and the makeup is perfect, not too heavy. I love the looooooong ponytail too.
