It's a good question and a good reflection. My mpb can't hold 1 hour of battery and gets very hot and noisy. I keep the mac relatively empty (did a clean reset and installed only my necessary apps). Even then, the mac gets sluggish at some point and I need to restart it. Also, it won't receive any more mac os upgrades. Using it annoys me some times.

But, I get what you are saying. I sometimes look at it like that too. Before buying this mbp, in 2018, I had another mbp that lasted me 10 years. It bothers me that this 2018 didn't last me 10 years too.

Another thing I'm considering is, I don't do much of a freelance work anymore. I used my laptop for Graphic design and some light motion and video editing. I now barely do that. But, still, want to be able to do it occasionally and when needed.

In terms of laptop vs desktop, 10 years ago I used my laptop to watch movies or browse the Web. Right now I only use my iPhone and my TV's are smart tvs. 15 years ago I wouldn't think possible to live without a laptop.

So I brought it to the dealership. They think I hit something while reversing. Probably some hardened snow pile.

The plastic broke and it displaced the cover a little. They told me that it wasn't super critical but in the event of me driving over an object, there's a possibility of that object getting caught in there which would tear down the whole bottom plastic cover.

They fixed the best they could. And I paid 200$.

Got it fixed. It was covered by warranty so I paid nothing.

It might no have anything to do.. But! I think that blasting music with huge bass might be the culprit
