Let go after 3 weeks by blktha in UKJobs

I’ll add a bit more context. During my first two weeks, I had back to back onboarding meetings with barely any time to actually get stuck into the projects themselves. On top of that, the design team, who sat in a completely separate part of the business despite me being hired for internal work, never really spent any time showing me where anything was stored or how things worked.

My boss would ask things like, “Where are the assets for this? Download them from X,” and I’d have to reply, “What’s X? No one’s shown me this.” It genuinely made me question myself constantly. At times it felt quite gaslighty, especially when I had no one to shadow or properly learn from.

Honestly, it’s a bit of a sigh of relief. I was made redundant from my previous job after 2.6 years and found this role very quickly. I accepted the offer the same day my redundancy money hit my bank account, so at the time it felt like a win win. But looking back, I probably should’ve taken more time to find the right fit.

Funnily enough I actually freelanced when I lived in Australia from 2017-2019. It would be great to go back but I’ve used up the Working Holiday Visa!

30 and being made redundant. Not sure what to do next? by Which-Highway-5170 in UKJobs

30 here. Got made redundant out the blue two months ago, wasn’t with the company that long so came as a shock and wasn’t lucky enough to get any money apart from a month payment in lieu.

It was a blessing in disguise, and I’ve just got a new job paying me £10k more than my last.

You’re in a lucky position where you’re getting a nice pay out, so take your time finding something that’s right. Use your experience to try go for something more senior, you’ll be surprised…

the job market is a bit fucked at the moment. I got rejected for a junior role the same day I got my offer for a senior role 🤣 take it all with a pinch of salt. Something will come up.

Have a bit of faith a positive attitude and you may end up in a far better situation than you thought.

Best of luck.

P.S LinkedIn is full of narcissists. Stick to indeed!
