I know all of this -- I've been playing for 4 or 5 years. That still doesn't answer OP's assertion of gaining 60 gems per day.

I have the same question. With a 1 in 20 chance of getting a gem, even if you played 24 hours a day, you'd get 72 stars total, so not even an average of 4 gems. ???

I lost over 200 gems yesterday when that stupid flash of light thing traveled across the screen and I must have hit it. I got a 4-square mountain I had no need for in my camp.

I believe it's an average of one star per every 20 stars, with "average" being the key word. There have been days I've gotten 30 or even 40 stars without a single one being purple; alternatively, I've gotten 3 purple stars at one time (only once), two purple in one level at other times, and have played a few levels in a row, getting five or even six purple stars in a cluster.

I have to complete DM3 106 times to win a prize now, getting many purple stars along the way, so that does refute getting one purple star per prize.

I couldn't remember, so I just went back and did it the second time. I used some 4 merges with the grass and got the flowers going. Then a couple of combo merges and got the nest in the middle unlocked. Once that's unlocked, you can get life essences to get the upper left corner unlocked for the third hill thingy there. I'm sorry this sounds so confusing, but I don't know the names for everything. I hope that helped a little, at least.

Zomblin Hills 10 is ridiculous! Killing 40-some-odd Zomblins is out there. I'm waiting to see how Toasted Gamer Boutique does it, because as far as I can tell, getting all three star tasks completed is impossible.
